The new BRZ breaks the traditional Subaru all-wheel drive mould but keeps the distinctive BOXER engine layout. A twin to the Scion FR-S here in North America, the Subaru has a unique interior and other distinguishable Subaru touches to set it apart from its sibling.

Only one engine option and two transmission choices are offered with the BRZ. The 2.0L four-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine develops a healthy 200 hp @ 7000 rpm and 151 lb-ft of torque @ 6400 rpm. Power is sent to the Torsen limited-slip rear differential through either a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Trims include the base BRZ and BRZ Sport-tech Package.

In base trim, features include 6-speed manual transmission, four-wheel vented disc brakes with ABS and brake override, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, 215/45 R17 summer performance tires, electric power-assisted steering, Torsen limited-slip differential, Vehicle Stability Control with traction control system with 5 modes, LED daytime running lights, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain), LATCH, keyless entry with engine immobilizer, auto on/off HID headlights, body-colour door handles, body-colour foldable heated side mirrors, dual exhaust, 3-spoke leather-wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheel with red stitching, aluminum-alloy pedal covers, touch-screen GPS navigation system with 6.1-inch LCD screen, 8=speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA audio with 2-channel amplifier and auxiliary input, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity and audio streaming, iPod control capability and USB port, manual climate control system with cabin air filtration, floor mats, chrome interior door handles, digital clock/trip computer/outside temperature display, height-adjustable driver’s seat, dual vanity mirrors, leather-wrapped shift handle and parking brake handle, multi-function display with current and average fuel economy, and power locks and windows with auto up/down.

Sport-tech Package adds Anthracite black leather and Black Alcantara interior, heated front seats, illuminated vanity mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, fog lights, push button start, rear trunk spoiler, and security system.
