A tonne of fun, minor issues.
Those that love Saabs love them, and those that hate them hate them.

The 2.0T engine while peppy won't keep you up with any 335is but it'll keep in time with most mid-sized v6s, and it'll at least put you in the same ballpark as some spirited-driving cars like the GTI or rx8. There is a moderate amount of turbo lag but the steering is tight and the body roll is more than acceptable.

From the moment I bought this car I get a lot of turned heads on the streets and looks from other drivers. It looks a little like a bmw 3 series but definitely isn't. Once you buy one you're almost instantly in a club. Other Saab drivers wave at you, and other entry-level luxury car owners ask you what kind of car you're driving.

I love this car but that said, it isn't without its small issues. I thought that Saab had fixed most of its electrical problems when GM had taken it over but mine has had a few minor problems. The window regulator was broken when I bought it, and I had to wait two weeks for the dealership to get one in. The TPMS routinely malfunctions, lighting up my dash like a Christmas tree but intermittently goes off and on. I ignore it for the most part. The seats while leather are not the plushest leather seats I've sat in, although they seem as though they'll wear very well. The dashboard feels a little outdated but it's one of those love it or hate it kind of things as well.

All things considered I love this car. I get around 33mpg with straight highway driving (better than the 29 EPA rating). The exterior styling is new and fresh (although if possible get the 17" optional rims as I think the 16" look too small). The car hasn't had any mechanical issues since I bought it (knock on wood) and the performance is adequate for an entry level luxury car.

love this car
Nice sporty ride. Lots of room inside. We have hauled all the building materials to build a chicken coop in this car. Our huge dogs love it. Very comfortable.

2009 Saab 9-3

Fun to drive
I have very much enjoyed driving this car - great power, comfort and sound too. The controls are well placed, easy to use, love the auto-wipers that come on when it rains and set the tempo based on need. The rear seats fold down (60/40) adding to the already generous trunk space - there is even a ski pass through. Handles exceptionally well on snow and icy streets.
