Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a problem with the "car costume" feature included in an over-the-air software update. Under certain conditions, using the feature could cause various exterior lights not to work properly. Safety Risk: Exterior lights that don't work properly could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Rivian has released an over-the-air software update to disable the feature and fix the issue. Rivian will notify affected owners by email. There is no further action required if your vehicle has software release 2024.39.31 or a later release.

Issue: On certain vehicles, a Rivian service center may have removed and reused the upper B-pillar and/or C-pillar trim(s) during service. As a result, the clip(s) attaching the trim to the pillar(s) may be damaged. If this happens, the side curtain airbags may not inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Rivian will notify owners by email and advise you to take your vehicle to a Rivian service center to inspect and, if necessary, replace the upper B-pillar and/or C-pillar trim panel(s) with new ones.
