It's another year of minor changes for Mitsubishi's compact crossover. A new optional CVT, called CVT-8 by Mitsu, promises better driving responses and lower fuel consumption.
A five-speed manual transmission is the standard partner for the RVR's 2.0L four-cylinder engine, which makes 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. Front-drive models can be had with either transmission, but AWD-equipped trims (Mitsu calls it all-wheel control, or AWC) come standard with the CVT.
Five trims are available: ES 2WD, SE 2WD, SE AWC, SE AWC Limited Edition and GT AWC.
Standard equipment includes a driver's knee airbag (for a total of seven airbags), 16-inch steel wheels with covers, auto-off headlights, heated/power-adjustable side mirrors, body-colour side mirrors and door handles, heated front seats, six-way manual driver's seat and four-way manual front passenger seat, air conditioning, power door locks with keyless entry, power windows with auto up/down driver's glass, four-speaker stereo, cruise control, tilt-and-telescopic steering, and multifunction trip computer.
SE 2WD trim adds the option of the CVT, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, rear privacy glass, front floor centre console with armrest and cupholders, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, chrome-plated interior door handles, Bluetooth, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
SE AWC models add all-wheel drive, standard CVT, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and eco mode indicator.
The move up to the SE AWC Limited Edition brings a ?Sportronic? CVT with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, black mesh grille with chrome surround, roof rails, chrome exhaust finisher, upgraded cloth seats, illuminated driver and front passenger vanity mirrors, chrome interior trim, automatic climate control, high-contrast gauges, and colour multifunction trip computer.
GT AWC trim includes Xenon high-intensity discharge headlights, sunroof, piano black audio trim panel, intelligent keyless entry, six-speaker stereo, backup camera, and rain-sensing wipers.
