CHANGES FOR 2014:
-Redesigned model
Following the second-generation model's long run, Mitsubishi has redesigned its Outlander compact crossover for 2014. Updated styling surrounds powertrains that have been carried over from 2013; a 2.4L four-cylinder engine (166 hp/162 lb-ft of torque) comes matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), and a 3.0L V6 (227 hp/215 lb-ft) uses a six-speed automatic. All-wheel drive (dubbed “all-wheel control,” or AWC by Mitsu) is optional in Outlander's most basic trim, and standard in all others.
Trim levels include ES, ES AWC, SE AWC and GT S-AWC. SE and GT models come with three-row seating.
Standard kit includes seven airbags (including driver's knee blocker), hill start assist, four-wheel disc brakes with brake override, brake assist and electronic brake force distribution, 16-in alloy wheels, chrome grille accents, auto-off headlights, heated, power-adjustable side mirrors with body-colour housings, rear privacy glass, heated front seats, six-way manual driver's seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cloth seats, lighted vanity mirrors, front map lights, cargo tie-down hooks and under-floor storage, cargo area cover, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, chrome-plated inside door handles, floor mats, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, power windows with driver's auto up/down, cruise control, six-speaker stereo, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, multi-function trip computer and an illuminated ignition switch.
ES AWC trim adds all-wheel drive.
SE AWC models include the 3.0L engine and six-speed transmission, side mirrors with LED turn signal repeaters, third-row seating and intelligent keyless entry.
GT trim adds “super” AWC, with four driver-selectable modes, active front differential, 18-inch alloy wheels, Xenon headlights, chrome beltline accent, flat aero-type wipers, roof rails, sunroof, power driver's seat, leather seats, floor centre console with armrest and cupholders, 710-watt 9-speaker stereo, high-contrast gauges, power tailgate and rain-sensing wipers.
