History/Overview
Mitsubishi introduced the Eclipse Cross in 2018 to fill a compact crossover gap between its subcompact RVR and Outlander. It is unrelated to the long-gone Eclipse coupe and convertible sports car.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
This year, Mitsu has trimmed the Eclipse Cross's lineup to four trim levels, eliminating 2019's SE Black Edition and SE S-AWD Tech, and adding a new Limited Edition S-AWC package.
Available Trims
Eclipse Cross trims are ES S-AWC, SE S-AWC, Limited Edition S-AWC and GT S-AWC. Common to all is a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and Mitsu's All-Wheel Control AWD system.
Standard Features
ES S-AWC includes hill start assist, 18-inch alloy wheels, auto-off headlights, fog lights, heated side mirrors, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, heated front seats, six-way manual driver's seat, cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, power door locks, windows and side mirrors, 7.0-inch infotainment display, cruise control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker stereo, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and a colour multi-information display.
SE S-AWC adds blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, an electric parking brake, auto on/off headlights, power-folding side mirrors, premium cloth upholstery, upgraded front centre armrest, rear centre armrest with cupholders, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter, dual-zone climate control, passive keyless entry, six-speaker stereo and rain-sensing wipers.
Limited Edition trim adds LED headlights, aluminum pedals, black exterior trim, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel.
Finally GT models get lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable driver's seat, leather upholstery, head-up display, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a nine-speaker stereo with subwoofer and a multi-view camera system.
Fuel Economy
Mitsubishi's fuel consumption estimates for the Eclipse Cross are 9.6/8.9 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The Eclipse Cross competes with a wide range of other small crossovers, like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson and Subaru Forester.
