2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class

Not much changes for Mercedes-Benz's original four-door ?coupe,? which carries over from 2013 with a trio of trims. First off is the CLS 550, motivated by a 4.6L biturbo V8 making 402 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Next up the ladder is the CLS 63 AMG, using a 5.5L biturbo V8 good for 550 hp and 531 lb-ft, and at the top is the CLS 63 AMG S, which uses the same engine tuned for 577 hp and 590 lb-ft.

The CLS 550 comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission, while the AMG cars use a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox. All have 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

Standard kit in the CLS 550 includes 18-inch wheels, cross-drilled brake rotors, single-lamella grille, aluminum sport pedals, bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, air suspension with adaptive damping, electro-mechanical power steering, sunroof, parktronic with active park assist, three-zone automatic climate control, Comand online navigation, ambient lighting with three colour settings, Bluetooth and MP3 integration, satellite radio, and an analog clock.

CLS 63 AMG trim adds AMG-tuned all-wheel drive, ride control suspension with three settings, three-stage stability control with torque vectoring brake, speed-sensitive sport steering, eco start/stop, high-performance brakes with silver-painted calipers, LED headlights, heated and power-folding side mirrors, trunklid spoiler, 19-inch wheels, drive-dynamic multicontour driver's seat, climate comfort front seats, Nappa leather flat top-and-bottom steering wheel, AMG instrument cluster with race timer, and shift paddles.

CLS 63 AMG S adds additional water cooling, red-painted brake calipers, silver seatbelts, and a limited-slip rear differential.
