For 2008, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport receives some new standard features. There's also a Limited Edition model, inspired by the Range Stormer concept vehicle, with only 40 copies available. It features flush-fitted bumpers with integrated exhaust, 20-inch Range Stormer wheels, body-coloured lower side panels, exclusive premium tan leather, oak trim, rear seat entertainment system and adaptive cruise control.
The Range Rover Sport comes in two models: the HSE, with 4.4-litre V8, and the Supercharged (S/C), with supercharged 4.2-litre V8. Both use a six-speed automatic transmission and have permanent four-wheel drive. Both also feature Terrain Response, with five driver-selectable settings for general driving, grass/gravel/snow, mud/ruts, sand and rock crawl, and have electronic air suspension and hill descent control.
Features on the HSE include 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation system, six-CD Harman/Kardon Logic7 stereo, power sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, bi-Xenon headlamps with washers, front and rear park distance control, garage door opener, message centre, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, power-folding heated mirrors, keyless entry, front and rear fog lamps, electric steering column, eight-way leather seats, 65/35 split-folding rear seat, Bluetooth hands-free telephone system, privacy glass, cruise control, and rear wiper.
The S/C adds 20-inch alloy wheels, sport leather or premium leather seats, adaptive headlamps, centre console cooler box, and Brembo brakes.
Similar to the Range Rover, the Sport is slightly smaller and lighter, and also faster and very nimble. It offers the same impressive off-road ability, though, and a high level of luxury. The smoothly-styled Limited Edition gives it a whole new look and attitude, but you'd better get your order in early, as only a few are available.
