2016 Kia Sedona

Kia's Sedona minivan makes the move into the 2016 model year with no changes.

A long list of trims all share a common drivetrain built around a 3.3L V6 engine that makes 276 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. It comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

In spite of all versions using the same power team, the Sedona's fuel consumption ratings vary across trims. The basic L and LX are rated 13.2/9.7 L/100 km (city/highway); the SX is a bit more efficient at 12.9/9.5, and the SXL is notably thirstier at 14.2/10.5.

The entry-level L model comes with seven seats, 17-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, projection headlights, heated side mirrors, trip computer, cruise control, tilt-and-telescopic steering, height-adjustable driver's seat, four-speaker stereo, keyless entry and front and rear air conditioning.

LX trim adds alloy wheels, automatic headlights, eight-passenger seating, LED positioning lights, power-folding side mirrors, driver's side blind-zone spotter mirror, eight-way power driver's seat with lumbar, heated front seats, cooling glove box, Bluetooth, UVO infotainment, backup camera, six-speaker stereo, rear parking sensors, auto-dimming rearview mirror, garage door opener, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter, and a windshield wiper de-icer.

LX+ models get power sliding doors, upgraded instrument cluster, second- and third-row sunshades, power front passenger seat, intelligent keyless entry and push-button start.

SX trim adds 18-inch wheels, power liftgate, heated steering wheel, blind spot detection, drive mode selecotr, fog lights, upgraded gauge cluster, three-zone automatic climate control, heated second row seats, driver's seat with four-way lumbar, aeroblade wipers and a portable flashlight.

SX+ builds in leather seating, but reverts to a seven-passenger arrangement.

SXL models get 19-inch wheels, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, second-row captain's chairs with leg rests and aviation-style headrests, leather- and wood-trimmed steering wheel, dual-panel sunroof, HID headlights, front and rear parking sensors, dual 110-volt inverters and stainless steel scuff plates.

Finally, the SXL+ piles on radar cruise control, eight-inch multimedia interface, navigation, upgraded stereo, 360-degree camera system, lane departure warning, automatic high beams and front collision warning.

Prices range from $27,695 to $46,195.
