Kia EV9

Issue:
On certain vehicles, the bolts that secure the second and/or third-row seat(s) may be missing. As a result, the seat(s) could move or detach in a crash.

Safety Risk:
A seat that moves or detaches could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Corrective Action:
Kia will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect all seats and, if necessary, install any missing seat mounting bolts.

Issue:
On certain vehicles, the instrument cluster screen could remain blank when the vehicle is started. If this happens, warnings, tell-tales and gauges may not display.

Safety Risk:
Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Kia will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument cluster software.

Issue:
On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the remote smart parking assist (RSPA) not to work properly. This problem could lead to reduced braking while using the RSPA feature.
Note: This recall only affects EV9 LAND models with Premium or GT-Line packages.

Safety Risk:
Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash and/or injury.

Corrective Actions:
To reduce the safety risk, Kia recommends that you shouldn't use the RSPA feature until the recall repairs have been completed. Kia will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the integrated electronic parking brake software.

Issue:
On certain vehicles, the compliance label may be missing information in French. The words listed on the label for "Tires", "Rims", "Front" and "Rear" appear in English only, when they should be listed as "Tires/Pneus", "Rims/Jantes", "Front/Avant" and "Rear/Arriere". Canadian regulations require this information to be listed on the label in both English and French.

Safety Risk:
These small errors do not affect vehicle safety.

Corrective Actions:
This is not a recall. Kia has corrected the compliance label for all new vehicles.
