The current Honda Civic hatchback arrived in 2017, a year after a redesigned sedan rang in the Civic's 10th generation.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
For 2020, all Civic hatchback models enjoy refreshed styling, and add more sound insulation for a quieter cabin. Sport and Sport Touring trims each boast their own new interior treatments. There are new standard features, too, which we've detailed below.
Honda sells the Civic hatchback in LX, Sport, and Sport Touring trims. They all use a 1.5L turbocharged engine, which adds some extra power in the two Sport configurations. A six-speed manual transmission is standard across the board, and a continuously variable automatic (CVT) is optional.
Civic Hatchback LX comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, capless fuel filling, an electric parking brake, a rear roofline spoiler, heated side mirrors, LED taillights, a 7.0-inch infotainment display, automatic climate control, power windows, tilt-and-telescopic steering, six-way driver and four-way front passenger seats, heated front seats, an eight-speaker stereo, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Standard safety features include automatic high beams, forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, and adaptive cruise control.
New to Sport trim for 2020 is a six-way power driver's seat. The package also adds 18-inch wheels, a LaneWatch blind spot camera, fog lights, a sunroof, speed-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, passive keyless entry, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.
Sport Touring models bring new-for-2020 LED fog lights and an integrated garage door opener. Standard kit carried over from 2019 includes LED front turn signals, automatic on/off headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, a power front passenger seat, heated rear seats, leather-trimmed seats, and a 12-speaker stereo with satellite radio.
Honda's fuel consumption estimates are 8.0/6.2 L/100 km (city/highway) with the manual transmission. CVT models are rated 7.7/6.0 in LX trim, and 8.0/6.6 in Sport and Sport Touring configurations.
