Recall Information
Safety recalls issued by the manufacturer and Transport Canada for this vehicle model.
Recall #
Date
System Affected
Model Years
Manufacturer Recall #: 25SD9
Units Affected: 5020
Type: Safety Mfr
Details:
Issue: On certain vehicles, the left-rear axle shaft may not have been installed properly. As a result, the axle shaft splines could wear. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the vehicle is parked and the parking brake isn't applied, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This recall also affects certain incomplete vehicles. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
Manufacturer Recall #: 25S49
Units Affected: 159135
Type: Safety Mfr
Details:
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display or to freeze when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the SYNC software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
Manufacturer Recall #: 25S36
Units Affected: 20
Type: Safety Mfr
Details:
Issue: On certain chassis cab vehicles, water could enter the high-voltage battery and cause a short circuit. Note: This recall only affects certain E-Transit chassis cab vehicles with extended range batteries. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery. If no damage is found, the dealer will add drainage holes to the side rails of the high-voltage battery tray.
Manufacturer Recall #: 24S67
Units Affected: 97
Type: Safety Mfr
Details:
Issue: On certain vehicles, the wrong rear axle shaft bolts may have been installed by a Ford dealer during recall 24S05 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-083). As a result, the bolts could loosen and cause a rear wheel to lock up or to separate from the vehicle. This could also cause a loss of power to the wheels or the vehicle to move when it's parked and the parking brake isn't applied. Safety Risk: A rear wheel that locks up suddenly or a wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could create a hazard for others. Additionally, a loss of power to the wheels or a parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury and/or a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear axle shaft bolts. The dealer will also inspect and fill the differential fluid, as necessary.
Manufacturer Recall #: 24S53
Units Affected: 79
Type: Safety Mfr
Details:
Issue: On certain vehicles, the incomplete vehicle information label lists an incorrect gross axle weight rating (GAWR) for the front axle. The label incorrectly lists the front axle capacity as 2100 kg (4630 lb.). The label should instead list the front axle capacity as 1875 kg (4134 lb.). This could lead to overloading of the vehicle and cause the steering knuckle(s) to fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of control. Note: This recall only affects certain rear-wheel drive incomplete vehicles equipped with single rear wheels, a 3.5L engine and a 138'' wheelbase. Safety Risk: A loss of control could increase the risk a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the incomplete vehicle information label.
