CHANGES FOR 2013:

  • Buick IntelliLink now standard on all models.
  • Heated steering wheel standard on Turbo-badged (non-GS) models.
  • Trim lines simplified. New trims: Regal eAssist, Turbo, Turbo Sport, and GS.
  • Paint changes: Black Diamond Tricoat, Champagne Silver Metallic, and Dark Blue Metallic added.
  • Revised look to OnStar buttons.
  • Base 2.4L four-cylinder engine dropped.
  • GS gets automatic transmission as standard, manual as no-charge option.

Buick’s mid-size Euro-transplant gets a simplified model strategy for 2013 – the eAssist, Turbo, Turbo Sport and GS. All turbo models now get standard heated steering wheels, except for the hotter GS – can we use hot and Buick in the same sentence? You bet. This front-driver’s sexy skin benefits from some tasty add-ons and gorgeous 19-inch alloys, and an exclusive 2.0L turbo-four boosted to 270 hp provides the go. For 2013, the GS now gets as standard a six-speed auto with the manual as a no-cost option. Suspension tweaks and Brembo brakes give the already fine-driving Regal a performance edge.

The Regal is available with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder with electric motor in the eAssist, turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder in the Turbo, and high-output turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder in the GS. The 2.4-litre models use a six-speed automatic, while the turbocharged models use a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.

Trim levels on the Regal are eAssist, Turbo, Turbo Sport, and GS.

Features on the Regal eAssist include 2.4L four-cylinder engine with eAssist, six-speed automatic transmission, OnStar, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain) content theft alarm, electronic immobilizer, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, remote vehicle starter, body colour door handles with chrome insert, automatic headlights, body colour power heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, rear parking assist, 17-inch aluminum wheels, cargo net, automatic dual-zone climate control, cruise control, floor mats, driver information centre, TPMS, E-Z key passive entry system, push button start, power locks, auto-dimming rear view mirror, rear 120-volt 3-prong outlet, tilt/telescopic steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel with Bluetooth/cruise/audio controls, leather-wrapped shifter, universal home remote, power windows with driver and front passenger auto-up/down and rear passenger auto-down, 8-way power driver and front passenger seats, leather seating surfaces, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with centre armrest, 7-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio with 7-inch touch screen, auxiliary input, satellite radio, USB port, and Bluetooth phone connectivity and wireless audio streaming.

Regal Turbo (1SP) adds 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, dual exhaust with bright tips, bi-xenon HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, heated steering wheel, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.

Regal Turbo Sport (1SR) adds continuously-variable real-time damping with Interactive Drive Control and 19-inch aluminum wheels.

Regal GS adds 2.0L high-output four-cylinder engine, rear seat-mounted outboard airbags, unique floor mats, sport pedals, unique front seats, flat-bottom sport steering wheel, Flex-ride real-time damping and HiPer strut front suspension, unique bodywork, unique 19-inch aluminum wheels, and nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
