History/Overview

Introduced in 2016, the Envision was a late entry into the lucrative compact luxury crossover segment. Buick redesigned it into a second generation in 2021.

What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year

For 2023, the Envision’s only changes are in its available paint colours.

Available Trims

Buick offers the Envision in Preferred, Essence, and Avenir trim levels. All are powered by a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed transmission; AWD is optional in Preferred and standard in Essence and Avenir.

Standard Features

Preferred models come with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, a hands-free tailgate, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone A/C, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, seven-speaker audio, a power driver’s seat, an auto-dimming mirror, passive keyless entry, and cloth/leatherette seating.

Standard safety features include automatic high beams, forward collision mitigation, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and rear park assist.

Essence adds a power passenger seat, a digital gauge display, and leather upholstery.

Avenir gains 20-inch wheels, a sunroof, nine-speaker audio, navigation, front park assist, surround vision, head-up display, ventilated front seats, and wireless phone charging.

Key Options

A premium seat package adds four-way driver lumbar; Essence also adds front passenger lumbar, and Avenir gains driver’s seat massage. A safety package brings blind spot monitoring, lane change alert, and rear cross-traffic alert.

A tech package II augments Essence and Avenir trims with continuous damping suspension, a camera-based rearview mirror, navigation, adaptive cruise, and enhanced forward collision mitigation. A more basic tech pack for Essence trim brings navigation, head-up display, nine-speaker audio, surround vision, front park assist, and a garage remote.

Fuel Economy

Buick’s fuel consumption estimates are 10.2/7.5 L/100 km (city/highway) for FWD models, and 10.5/8.2 L/100 km with AWD.

Competition

The Envision competes in a broad field consisting of the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, Cadillac XT5, Lexus NX, BMW X1, Porsche Macan, Lincoln Corsair, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Infiniti QX50, Acura RDX, and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
