The Audi S5 Sportback is a compact fastback counted as one of a number of four-door “coupes.” It shares much of its makeup with coupe and convertible versions of the S5 and the S4 sedan, all of which are covered in their own buyer’s guide entries.

For 2022, the Audi S5 Sportback adds wireless phone charging and Android Auto to its list of standard kit.

Available Trims

The Audi S5 Sportback comes in Progressiv and Technik trims, both powered by a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine, an eight-speed transmission, and AWD.

Standard Features

Progressiv trim comes with 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, auto-dimming mirrors, passive keyless entry, and a hands-free tailgate.

Inside, there’s diamond-stitched Nappa leather upholstery, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, heated front seats and steering wheel, digital gauges, a 10.1-inch infotainment display, and 10-speaker audio.

Standard safety features include high beam assist, front and rear parking sensors, collision detection and mitigation, lane departure warning, blind spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Technik’s additions include adaptive cruise with stop-and-go, traffic jam assist, road sign recognition, and lane keep assist. Technik also brings laser headlights, power-folding side mirrors, upgraded audio, and a top-view camera.

Key Options

Progressiv offers an advanced driver assist package that comprises a bunch of the extras that come in Technik trim: adaptive cruise, traffic sign recognition, all-speed collision mitigation, lane assist, and congestion assist.

Both S5 Sportback trims can be had with a dynamic package of sport differential and adaptive damping suspension.
