History/Overview

The A6 Allroad is Audi’s largest station wagon model, fitted with rugged styling bits to give it the look of a crossover. Audi launched the A6 Allroad in 2020, a year after fully redesigning the mechanically similar A6 sedan into its latest generation.

What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year

Changes to the A6 Allroad for 2023 are limited to a couple new safety features for the car’s top trim level.

Available Trims

The A6 Allroad comes in Progressiv and Technik trim levels. Both are powered by a 3.0L turbo V6 with mild hybrid assist, a seven-speed automatic transmission, and AWD.

Standard Features

Progressiv trim starts out with 20-inch wheels, air suspension, heated/auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, LED headlights with washers, and a panoramic roof. Audi also chips in passive keyless entry, three-zone A/C, heated front/rear seats, a heated steering wheel with power adjustments, auto-dimming interior mirror, and leather upholstery. A 10.6-inch infotainment screen contains navigation, and there are digital gauges, wireless phone charging/CarPlay integration.

The A6 Allroad’s standard safety package comprises city-speed forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, front/rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and an exit warning system.

Move up to Technik trim to get four-zone A/C, ventilated front seats, power door closers, side window sunshades, an upgraded stereo, and a head-up display. This configuration also adds a number of safety features, including top-view cameras, new-for-2023 remote park assist plus, rear collision mitigation, active lane departure warning, intersection/traffic jam assistants, road sign recognition, emergency/turn assists, and adaptive wipers.

Key Options

In Progressiv trim, a convenience package adds top-view cameras, side window sunshades, and ventilated front seats. A driver assistance pack brings adaptive cruise, active lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, and road sign recognition.

Technik’s contour seat upgrade brings massaging front seats with 14-way adjustments and Valcona/Milano leather, an extended leather dash, and an air quality system. The dynamic package adds all-wheel steering.

Audi’s fuel consumption estimates for the A6 Allroad are 11.1/7.8 L/100 km (city/highway).

Competition

The A6 Allroad’s competitors are the Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain and the Volvo V90 Cross Country, which both follow Audi’s formula of dressing up a mid-size station wagon as a crossover.
