History/Overview
Station wagons are a hard sell in North America these days, but brands like Audi know there are a few drivers who still appreciate this practical body style. To help expand its mid-size A6 wagon’s appeal, Audi tacks on some rugged styling cues to turn the car into a crossover it calls the A6 Allroad, which was introduced as a 2020 model.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2022, the A6 Allroad gets a few new standard features, which we’ve detailed below.
Available Trims
Audi offers the A6 Allroad in Progressiv and Technik trim levels. Power is from a 3.0L turbo V6 with mild hybrid assist, a seven-speed automatic transmission, and standard AWD.
The other mid-size Audi wagon is the high-performance RS6 Avant, which is covered in a separate buyer’s guide entry.
Standard Features
Audi fits the A6 Allroad’s with adaptive air suspension, new-for-2022 20-inch wheels, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, LED headlights with washers, a power tailgate, and passive keyless entry.
Inside, you’ll enjoy a panoramic sunroof, power front seats with lumbar, three-zone A/C, heated front and rear seats, electric steering column, leather upholstery, auto-dimming mirror, and ambient lighting.
New this year, navigation, a digital gauge display, and wireless phone charging are standard; also included are wireless Apple CarPlay, satellite radio, and a 10.6-inch touchscreen.
On the safety front, rear side airbags are newly standard for 2022, joining pre sense city, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, exit warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, and an alarm system.
Technik trim adds four-zone A/C, ventilated front seats, power door closers, side window sun shades, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, head-up display, top-view camera, pre sense rear, and adaptive wipers. New for 2022, Technik also gets adaptive cruise control, active lane departure warning, intersection/emergency/turn/traffic jam assistants, and traffic sign recognition.
