An all-new model, the Saturn Outlook is based on a new platform and design that is also used for the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.
The Outlook seats up to eight people, is available in front- and all-wheel drive configurations, and uses a 3.6-litre V6 with variable valve timing mated to a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission. The base XE model with single exhaust is rated at 265 hp, while the XR model creates 267 hp and features dual exhaust.
The Outlook features three rows of seats, a low step-in height, and an articulated “Smart Slide” second-row feature that makes it easier to access the third row. Six standard airbags include curtain bags for all three rows of seats, with rollover sensing system.
The Outlook comes in XE and XR trim, both available in front- or all-wheel drive configuration. Seating is seven- or eight-passenger with second-row bench or captain’s chairs, 60/40 split third-row bench seat, covered rear cargo convenience centre, and fold-flat second- and third-row seats. The Smart Slide seat cushion flips up while the seatback slides forward, is operational with one hand, and can be adjusted fore or aft to maximize legroom or cargo space.
Features on the XE include 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, heated mirrors, front and rear air conditioning, cruise control, OnStar, CD/MP3 stereo, keyless remote and tire pressure monitoring system.
The XR adds 18-inch machined aluminum wheels, body-coloured mirrors with integrated turn signals, roof rack side rails, dual-zone automatic climate control, garage door opener, driver information centre, auto-dimming mirror with compass, leather-wrapped wheel with audio controls, eight-way power driver’s seat, rear-seat audio, speed-sensitive steering and fog lamps.
Available options include high-intensity discharge lamps, 19-inch wheels, leather interior, ultrasonic parking assist, power liftgate, heated washer fluid, remote starter, DVD entertainment system and navigation system.
