Honda’s given their elemental CR-V new looks, new features, new tech, an all-new platform, and its first-ever standard turbo engine, as part of the growing trend of replacing displacement with boost. And though it’s all-new for this year, the 2017 CR-V will make former CR-V owners feel right at home in many meaningful ways – and that’s a good thing.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the seat belt buckles for the driver and front-passenger seats could wear over time and may not latch securely. If this happens, the seat belt could unlatch unexpectedly. Safety Risk: A seat belt that doesn't latch securely could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the driver and front-passenger seat belt assemblies. In most cases, the seat belt buckle release buttons will be replaced. If the dealer determines that a buckle can't be repaired, it will be replaced with a new part.

On certain vehicles, the electric power steering system could get caught in an infinite loop of steering assist going from lock to lock due to a manufacturing defect in the torque sensor. This could cause unintended steering input, reducing vehicle manoeuvrability, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering gearbox assembly.

On certain vehicles, the fuel feed pipe may not have been properly manufactured. Upon the fuel lines being pressurized, the connection between the feed pipe and fuel hose could separate, resulting in a fuel leak which could cause an engine stall. Additionally, a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel feed pipe and associated single use retainers.
