Watch: Canadian Geese Get Police Escort to Cross the Street

It's not every day that you get a police escort to cross the street. Even though sometimes it might feel like you need one. But these geese trying to cross a street in Victoria, BC, got just that from a member of the local constabulary. And it's as funny as it is adorable.

The clip, which we found via Reddit, starts about halfway through the intersection. A police officer is guiding a family of Canada geese (the clip says ducks, but we're pretty sure those are too big to be ducks) who seem to think that the traffic lights don't apply to them. Probably because they don't. You're going to want to listen to this one with sound to really get the full effect.

That's because in addition to lights and some siren chirps, this friendly officer is giving the geese some verbal commands. In both English and duck. That's right, he's quacking at them over the loudspeaker. And telling them to get off the road. Maybe he should be honking, though.

The geese clear the road, though the field they walk to looks like it's going to be condos soon. Maybe even the geese are having trouble finding a place in this market.

We've been watching this gif on repeat for about the last 20 minutes or so, and it just keeps getting better. "Quack, quack, quack. Get off the road, ducks." It's one of those moments more uniquely Canadian than a double double.
