Toyota is hoping to widen the appeal of the C-HR for 2019. The funky subcompact crossover gets two new trim levels as well as Apple CarPlay. That new trim brings down the price of entry as well.
For 2019, all trims of the C-HR get a new infotainment system. The 8.0-inch screen is a full inch bigger than 2018's. Even more important, gone is the old interface. In its place is Toyota's latest Entune 3.0 system that brings Apple CarPlay connectivity to the system. All trims get a new windshield de-icing system as well.
New this year is a base LE trim. It has 17-inch steel wheels, power windows, and keyless entry, for just over $1,000 less than last year's XLE entry-level model. The XLE gets a boost in the infotainment department to Entune 3.0 Audio Plus, as well as a $975 price hike. It still offers heated front seats, 17-inch alloys, and a leather wheel.
XLE Premium adds 18-inch alloys, smart key with push-button start, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and now three new two-tone colour options: blue, red, and silver, now all available with a black roof, along with the continuing white roof option.
C-HR Limited is the other new trim this year, sitting at the top of the lineup. It offers full leather seating, ambient lighting, and rain-sensing wipers.
All C-HR trims come with Toyota's Safety Sense P, which offers pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alerts with steering assist, auto high beams, and full-speed radar cruise. They use a 2.0L four that produces 144 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque, driving the front wheels through a CVT.
