The New Mercedes-Benz CLA to be unveiled at New York Auto Show

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 gets all-new exterior styling that improves aerodynamics and overall driving stability by way of a new front bumper that gives the car a sleeker appearance, with an optional silver, black or chrome trim strip available across all models. The CLA 45 AMG, meanwhile, receives additional accents around the front and rear bumpers to give the car a sportier, more aggressive stance.

Both the CLA 250 and the 45 AMG retain their current powertrains. The CLA 250 is available in both front and all-wheel drive, with a seven-speed automatic transmission controlling the 208 hp, four-cylinder turbocharged 2L engine. The CLA 45 AMG gets 50 percent more power under the hood with its 375 hp engine paired to the same seven-speed automatic. The CLA 250 and CLA 45 AMG go 0–100 km/h in 6.9 and 4.1 seconds respectively.

The new CLA will come standard with Active Brake Assist and rear-view camera. Mercedes' new LED High Performance headlamps more closely match the colour temperature of daylight, reducing eyestrain when driving at night. The new lamps also provide energy savings of about 60 percent over traditional xenon bulbs and 70 percent over halogen. The new LED headlights are standard on the CLA 45 AMG and are an available option on the CLA 250.

The premium package on the new CLA offers hands-free access to the trunk with a motion of the foot in the area of the rear bumper.

The interior has been restyled with new seat covers and trim parts in addition to chrome-plated controls for the new 8-inch media display that is now standard on the CLA lineup.

The new 2017 CLA arrives in Mercedes showrooms in late 2016.
