The different faces of the Mitsubishi RVR

Adventure doesn’t mean expensive; just ask Mitsubishi. The RVR subcompact SUV is a combination of affordable price, good looks, technology, and comfort that set it apart from others in the field. And with five seats and a generous 1,402 L of cargo space, it offers the room to share your adventures with others.

But with six different trim levels, it also has the combination of economy and features for just about everyone’s lifestyle. Take a look at how the Mitsubishi RVR can fit yours.

Smaller Budget, Bigger Aspirations

The Mitsubishi RVR ES FWD starts at just $24,998, with an efficient 2.0L, 148-hp four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that powers the front wheels. With those stylish looks and impressive interior space, you’d think that would be a good deal on its own.

But the ES FWD surprises with features you wouldn’t expect on a base model: standard heated front seats, heated power side mirrors and automatic climate control will help take the chill out of winter. Rain-sensing windshield wipers, auto LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, power windows and remote keyless entry add convenience, while an eight-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a three-month complimentary service of SiriusXM satellite radio, will keep you entertained on your drives.

And if your adventures take you on snowy roads or even a little more off-piste, the ES AWD adds Mitsubishi’s superior All-Wheel Control (AWC), which gives sure-footed, all-wheel-drive traction when you need it the most. At just $26,998, it’s everything you need and nothing you don’t; it’s also one of the most affordable all-wheel-drive SUVs on the market.

A Balanced Lifestyle

At $28,998, the SE AWC offers even more features while still staying under the $30k-mark. One of the biggest changes is under the hood: power is bumped up to 168 hp with a 2.4L engine. Outside, 16-inch alloy wheels, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and LED fog lights make the SE AWC look more premium. Speaking of, the interior gets premium fabric seats to go with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter, along with rear privacy glass and six speakers. And for safety’s sake, the SE AWC also adds electronic driving aids in the form of blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert.

Need more? The SEL AWC goes just above $30k at $31,498, but offers more luxury and convenience features, such as push-button start, microsuede/synthetic leather seats, a heated steering wheel and illuminated vanity mirrors in the sun visors. The side mirrors are now power folding, and black roof rails and 18-inch alloy wheels add a sportier look.

The savings calculator is a guide and not a guarantee of actual savings. Savings are calculated by the cost of your monthly trips (total km x fuel cost ÷ consumption of your vehicle), and how many of the monthly km can be driven in electric and hybrid mode, combining which shows the cost of the Outlander PHEV and the difference compared to your vehicle. Actual efficiency will vary depending on conditions, such as external elements, driving behaviours, vehicle maintenance and lithium-ion battery age.

Value Without Compromise

Even though the RVR is a subcompact SUV, the top-end GT AWC goes big on features. On top of everything listed above, the GT AWC adds an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink, paddle shifters, a remote engine starter and a six-way power driver’s seat for luxury and convenience. A powerful 710-watt Rockford Fosgate Punch nine-speaker audio system will make you feel the music with sharp highs and deep bass. And for safety, it also adds auto LED high beams, forward collision mitigation and lane departure warning. Leather appointed seats and a cargo cover round out the interior. It’s a lot of car for just $35,998.
