Hyundai entered the Canadian market in 1983 as the first subsidiary of the brand outside of Korea, and now offers a technology-rich lineup of cars and SUVs. With a reputation for quality and reliability, Hyundai offers some of the best warranties in Canada; as more proof, 94 per cent of all Hyundai SUVs from the last 10 years are still on the road1. And as a leader in electrified vehicles, Hyundai’s lineup of EVs, PHEVs and hybrids is the largest and most awarded in Canada2.

Hyundai Traction All-Wheel Drive (HTRAC)

Hyundai has developed one of the most advanced all-wheel-drive system available, perfect for the harsh Canadian winters or getting off the beaten path. Available on most Hyundai SUVs, HTRAC monitors 50 vehicle inputs more than 100 times per second to calculate the torque needed for each wheel. If it detects slippage, the system reroutes power between the front and rear axles and applies subtle braking pressure to the left and right wheels to help you maintain traction. It also features driver-selectable modes for Snow, Mud and Sand for optimum traction.

Award-winning lineup

People around the world have been taking notice of Hyundai, and the awards and accolades show just how respected the automaker is by the experts. As just a few examples, the Ioniq 5 was named Best Buys - Electric Car of the Year by LeGuide de l'auto, Canadian Green Utility Vehicle of the Year and Best EV in Canada by AJAC, and 2023 Green Vehicle of the Year Award by Auto 123. The Ioniq 6 was named Best Premium EV by AutoTrader, Best Buys - New Car of the Year by Le Guide de l'auto and Green Car of the Year by AJAC. The Ioniq 6 N garnered the lofty World Performance Car by World Car Awards. That quality also translates into reliability: of Canadian sales from the last 10 years, 93 per cent of Tucson models, 97 per cent of KONA models and 94 per cent of all Hyundai SUVs are still on the road1.
