The relevance of auto shows has been put to the test in recent years. The exorbitant costs of renting a booth and flagging attendance have put the exhibitions at risk and the Montreal Auto Show is no exception, despite its 80-year-long history.
But there’s hope on the horizon as the 2025 edition of the show, which takes place at the Montreal Convention Centre and opens its doors to the public between January 17 and 25. Ten brands that weren't in attendance a year ago have been officially announced for the upcoming show. In addition, organizers have decided to unveil a new brand identity for teh event, as well as a new slogan: “We only exist when we move forward!”
Enthusiasts will be able to see cars and SUVs from automakers like Subaru and Stellantis (and its brands Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo). The show will also welcome vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Lucid Motors, Polestar, and Volvo for the first time ever.
Happily, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Lamborghini, Lincoln, Lexus, Lotus, McLaren, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Shelby, Toyota, and Volkswagen, will also be back for the 2025 edition of the auto show.
Despite the return of these brands, it’s not all good news for the Montreal Auto Show, as Honda, Mazda, BMW, Mini, VinFast, Acura, Audi, Ferrari, Ineos, JLR, Maserati, Rivian and Rolls-Royce were not convinced to attend. If attendance is high, these brands may decide to return. We’ll see how Quebec’s enthusiasts respond to the updated branding in January.
Although Ferrari won’t be at the show officially, its vehicles will be thanks to the return of the private collection of Luc Poirier, which features a number of vehicles from the incomparable automaker.
“The upcoming edition of the Montreal Auto Show, with its new identity and all its innovations, convinces me of one thing: its undeniable appeal and constant drive to go further,” said Bertrand Godin, the show’s longtime spokesperson. “The meticulous care taken each year by the organization to reinvent itself makes it a flagship event in the automotive industry on a global scale.”
For those interested in attending, the organizers are offering a Black Friday sale that’s good for 50 per cent off the price of admission on November 28 and 29.
