The Porsche 718 Spyder RS is Art and Automotive Perfection

I ugly cried at a Lady Gaga concert.

She is a physically tiny person, but the way her energy and voice filled the massive stadium was proof that she was born to perform, and it was thrilling to experience. I got shivers watching Simone Biles compete at the Olympics and execute seemingly impossible physical feats with divine grace and precision.

It’s a transformational experience to witness greatness. Driving the Porsche 718 Spyder RS captivated me and filled me with the same sense of astonishment.

Like a baby seeing a bubble float by for the first time, driving the Spyder RS made me laugh uncontrollably as my brain tried to process the bewilderment and child-like wonder of experiencing something totally new and undeniably excellent.

It took 30 seconds behind the wheel of the Spyder RS for me to realize that it’s the best car I have ever driven. It hit me like a clap of thunder, seemingly changing the weight of the atmosphere, charging it up, and leaving me shook. Suddenly, it wasn’t simply a car; it transcended into a beacon of excellence, an example of automotive art, and a masterpiece of passion and engineering.

The Spyder RS is the ultimate expression of what makes Porsche great. The precision of its steering, the perfect balance of its chassis, the howl of its naturally aspirated six-cylinder revving all the way up to its 9,000-rpm redline, the way it shoves you into a corner and catapults you out, the way it demands your full focus — it all combines to give you a sense of control and confidence that makes you feel like anything is possible. This is the benchmark for what a proper sports car is supposed to feel like.

Like the most impactful art, this carbon fibre sensation is engaging, innovative, outlandish, timeless, and inspiring. It’s beautiful because it pushes boundaries and is the result of extreme dedication to the craft and mastering technical skills. Witnessing greatness is why nine million people a year flock to the Louvre in Paris. It’s also why Porsche is one of the most revered carmakers in the world.

When you witness greatness, you’re inspired. The feeling you get when you experience something new and wondrous gets you excited to go searching for the next new and wondrous thing. Watching someone excel at what they were meant to do and fulfilling their destiny by letting their greatness shine at full brightness opens you up to the feeling that you have infinite possibilities. It makes me feel more myself because I’m so present and enthralled. It inspires me to discover more about the world, learn about people, talk to strangers, and think about that sacred connection we all have with each other.

Exposure to greatness keeps us moving forward. That’s something this Porsche 718 Spyder RS — this exceptional piece of automotive art — can do to perfection.
