Let the ‘70s Vibes Roll: 2025 Ford Bronco Free Wheeling Revealed

To attract buyers, the Ford Bronco taps into something even more powerful than its engine: nostalgia. Already, customers can go for the shockingly stylish (and utterly adorable) Bronco Heritage Edition that was inspired by the early versions of the SUV from the ‘60s. Now, Ford will let buyers jump ahead another decade with the late ‘70s-inspired Free Wheeling package.

Similar to the package of the same name offered on the smaller Bronco Sport, the Free Wheeling package will invite buyers to dust off their 8-track tapes and don their favourite shearling-collar vest (more on that below).

Available as an optional appearance package for the Big Bend trim, the package adds a gradient of reflective stripes running down the side of the SUV, fading form a deep red, through orange, to a bright yellow at the bottom. In addition, the trim also adds a silver grille and 17-inch gloss-black steel wheels. Buyers who opt for the Sasquatch package will get 17-inch multi-spoke gloss black wheels with a machined lip that has a red pocket.

Inside, buyers will be greeted by unique seat upholstery that connects marine-grade vinyl with fabric panels using orange stitching for extra durability whether you take the newly available Shadow Black painted roof off or not. On the dash, orange pinstriping completes the look.

But that’s not where the freewheeling stops. To go with the newly expanded availability of the package, Ford is offering (American) consumers a line of Free Wheeling-inspired swag. That includes t-shirts, hats, and a shearling-collared puffer jacket and vest with the package’s distinctive red-orange-yellow striping, as well as bottles and keychains — though sadly no 8-track tapes — with the same.

The 2025 Ford Bronco Free Wheeling will be available for U.S. customers in January 2025.
