Canadian pricing for the highly anticipated 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona has been revealed, with the all-new electric coupe starting at $57,790 and $89,790 (including destination) for the Daytona R/T and Scat Pack trims, respectively.
The next-gen electric muscle car will initially be sold in B.C. and Quebec before expanding to other markets as production ramps up.
Parent company Stellantis says that the electric Charger will be eligible for stackable government EV rebates on all models, with up to $5,000 and $7,000 in federal rebates and provincial rebates, respectively.
The base Charger Daytona R/T is rated at 496 hp and 404 lb-ft of torque. Dodge claims that the Daytona R/T is expected to deliver more than 510 km of range from its 100.5-kWh battery pack.
In addition, the Charger Daytona R/T will feature 245/55 R18 all-season tires and 18-inch aluminum wheels, a sport suspension, and a valet mode.
Meanwhile, the Charger Daytona Scat Pack trim develops 670 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a claimed zero-100-km/h time of 3.3 seconds and a quarter-mile running time of an estimated 11.5 seconds. The brand claims that the Daytona Scat Pack will provide an estimated range of 418 km.
The 2024 Daytona Scat Pack version will also come equipped with the Track Package as standard that includes red Brembo six-piston fixed front and four-piston rear brakes, 20-inch aluminum front and rear wheels wrapped in 305/35 R20 and 325/35R20 section all-season tires, respectively, a gloss black rear spoiler, and an adaptive suspension.
Both Charger Daytona models also feature a 400-volt dual-motor system providing standard all-wheel drive, a mechanical slip-differential, and a “Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust” system that will help the fully electric car mimic the sound of a V8 powertrain.
Dodge also says that the Charger Daytona can be recharged from 20 to 80 per cent in just over 27 minutes when using a Level 3 fast charger.
In addition, the brand will also offer customers either a Level 2 home charging station or credits for public chargers on the Stellantis-owned Free2move network upon purchasing the Daytona Charger.
Other standard features on the Daytona Scat Pack include Track, Drive and Custom drive modes, along with five race option features. These consist of donut and drift modes, line lock, launch control, a race prep mode, a heads-up display (HUD), and a 16-inch digital gauge cluster showcasing unique graphics, and performance metrics.
Moreover, both models also get the PowerShot feature that provides 40 more horsepower for 15-second bursts, a front R-Wing pass-through for improved aerodynamics, one-pedal driving, three-level regenerative braking, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a pistol-grip shifter, nine-speaker Alpine audio, heated front seats, and active driver assistance systems.
The 2024 Dodge Charger EV will be built at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, and production of the two-door coupe Scat Pack and R/T trims will begin in summer 2024, while the four-door electric Daytona Scat Pack and R/T models will be produced in the first half of 2025.
Dodge will also be bringing gas-powered two- and four-door versions of the Charger, named the “Sixpack H.O.” for high output in the second half of 2025. These will be powered by the 3.0L twin-turbocharged Hurricane six-cylinder engine producing 550 hp in the two-door version and 420 hp in the four-door model.
