Honda Canada today announced the latest version of the sporty Civic Si will be priced at $33,150 when it goes on sale later this year.
Based on the all-new Civic sedan that went on sale earlier in 2021, the Si gets 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque from a tuned version of Honda’s 1.5L turbo four-cylinder, increases of 20 hp and 15 lb-ft compared to the Civic Touring sedan.
But as we told you in October, there’s more to the Civic Si’s performance than the numbers, as Honda’s mechanical tweaks promise more power over a wider range of engine speeds.
Of particular note is a standard six-speed manual transmission, making the Si the only version of the 11th-generation Civic sedan offered with a stickshift, whereas the six-speed is standard in all Civic hatchback trims.
The 2022 Honda Civic Si gets a number of styling cues to differentiate it from regular Civic sedans, like honeycomb grille mesh, a more aggressive-looking front bumper, and a rear trunk-mounted spoiler that Honda says adds downforce for better high-speed stability.
Civic Si’s standard features include a digital gauge cluster, a 9.0-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple and Android smartphone integration, 12-speaker audio, and a full suite of driver safety assists. The $33,150 price tag does not include a $1,700 destination charge.
Honda Canada says "later this year" is the most precise on-sale date it can provide for the Civic Si due to semiconductor microchip shortages and other supply chain challenges.
