Subaru has updated its Crosstrek subcompact crossover for the 2020 model year, making the company's EyeSight active safety package more widely available and adding automatic climate control to the list of standard features.
EyeSight is now standard in any Crosstrek trim equipped with the optional continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), making this the first time it can be ordered in the car's entry-level Convenience and Touring trims. EyeSight is also now standard in the top-end Limited trim.
Other minor changes include a new automatic door lock/unlock function, automatic post-collision unlocking, revised taillights and a pair of new colours, called Magnetite Grey Metallic and Pure Red.
The addition of automatic climate control across the board affects Convenience trim, as it was the only Crosstrek package that made do with manual A/C in 2019. Along with a new rear-seat reminder, the climate control system adds $100 to the car's base price, which is now $23,795 with the six-speed manual transmission (6MT). Crosstrek Convenience with the CVT and EyeSight is priced at $25,795.
Price increases are more significant higher in the trim range. Touring 6MT now starts at $26,095, up $700. Crosstrek Touring CVT w/EyeSight goes for $28,095. New to the Touring package are LED fog lights, passive keyless entry with push-button engine start and the Starlink connected services suite.
Sport 6MT is a $28,695 prospect (up $800), and Sport CVT w/EyeSight comes with a $31,295 MSRP, a $600 bump.
Subaru offers the Crosstrek Limited CVT w/EyeSight for $33,895, a $600 increase over the comparable 2019 model.
