Ford Gives F-150 and Ranger a Lift with New Off-Road Kit

The latest from Ford is here to give your day a lift, something to help keep you on a level heading no matter what you're doing with your Ranger or F-150 pickups. It's an off-road levelling kit that comes with Fox shocks, a lift, and more.

The kit comes from Ford Performance and it's ready to help you level like Mario.“Ford Performance Parts developed these kits to make the off-road experience even better for our Ranger and F-150 customers,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories. “Truck customers are asking for options for increased capability and customization, and the new levelling suspension kits for Ranger and F-150 deliver on that need.”

So what do you get? It starts with new aluminum-body Fox shocks with damping tuned by Ford Performance that are designed with more cooling capacity for rough terrain. Then there are new front coil-over springs that Ford says deliver a more optimal rate and that also lift the front of the truck by two inches. That lift in the nose gives the truck a more level stance, putting front and rear on similar ground. Finally, there are new upper mounts in the front with polyurethane bushings that Ford says help isolate noise and vibration.

Ford says that the kit gives Ranger a 21 percent increase in approach angle for when you're climbing steep hills. F-150s with the 145-inch wheelbase (that's SuperCabs with the 6.5-foot bed and SuperCrews with the 5.5) see a 22 percent increase. Ford says that development and testing of the kits included high-speed off-roading in California and rock crawling in Arizona.

The kits come with a Ford Performance Parts warranty and are available from later this fall for all 4x4 versions of the 2019 Ranger and 2015–2019 F-150, for US $1,495 before installation.
