BMW Has Created An Alpina B7 Just For Canada

BMW has commissioned Alpina to create a limited, special-edition run of its full-size B7 sedan that is exclusive to the Canadian market.

The two companies (they are separate entities despite their close ties) worked up the special car, dubbed the B7 Exclusive Edition, as a nod to the 20 years Alpina has worked with BMW Canada, and over 50 years the firm has been tweaking BMWs overall.

Like all B7s, this one starts out as a BMW 750i xDrive whose 4.4L turbo V8 Alpina thoroughly reworks to generate 600 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, figures that happen to match those of the V12 that powers the M760Li, with impressive boosts of 155 hp and 110 lb-ft over the stock V8's output. BMW says that power is enough to move the B7 from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

BMW says it will make 21 examples of the B7 Exclusive Edition, but every car will get a "1 of 7" badge as seven each will be made in three colours: Individual Frozen Black, Individual Frozen Grey and Black Sapphire Metallic.

Other touches include 21-inch black Alpina wheels, black chrome exterior trim and exhaust tips, an interior draped in Merino leather (including Alpina-embossed headrests), piano black wood trim, Alpina floor and luggage mats and a steering wheel with dark grey stitching.

BMW doesn't offer a price for the B7 Exclusive Edition (like all of Alpina's cars, it's a bit of an if-you-have-to-ask scenario) but the company does say the car will be available through select BMW retailers in July 2018.
