If you want to get your hands on the 2018 Subaru BRZ tS, you better act fast. Subaru announced Thursday that only 100 of the special edition tS — which stands for tuned by STI — will be available in Canada when it goes on sale early in 2018.
The price for the tS has been set at $37,995.
It will be available in only three exterior colours: World Rally Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica and Crystal White Pearl.
The tS is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Boxer engine, which delivers 205 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Subaru said that the tS will offer enhanced handling when compared to the base BRZ, with most of the focus being on improved dynamics.
The enhancements include STI-tuned front and rear SACHS dampers and coil springs and a stiffened chassis. It will comes with 18-inch STI alloy wheels fitted with 215/40 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires and Brembo brakes.
The exterior styling receives an STI carbon fibre rear spoiler, which is manually adjustable for all those who want to fine-tune rear down force. Helping improve traction and stability further, Subaru says, are front, rear and side underpoilers.
The black interior features an abundance of red accents everywhere, including the seatbelts. The seats are a combination of black leather and Alcantara, and the seatbacks are embroidered with the tS logo.
“The BRZ has always been about the thrill of the drive, and this new special edition model takes that concept even further,” Subaru Canada president, chairman and CEO Yasushi Enami said in a statement. “This is the ultimate expression of driving enjoyment the Subaru and STI brands have been built on.”
