It isn't only cars on display on the floor of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
There is also this thing called a Fun Utility Vehicle, a three-wheeled electric vehicle from small Oregon company, Arcimoto.
The company was founded a decade ago and this week showed off its first production model, called the Arcimoto SRK.
The company was founded with sustainable transportation in mind.
The SRK is a reverse trike, three-wheeler with two seats.
With two electric motors in the front wheels the base SRK has a range of 112 kilometres, while the extended range version can go 209 kilometres, the company said.
Pricing for the SRK starts at $15,100 Canadian ($11,900 US). Arcimoto says it has a 0-to-96 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 128 kilometres per hour.
“This moment is the culmination of a decade-long journey to create a true sustainable mobility solution, and this milestone marks our transition from a development-stage company to a vehicle production venture,” Arcimoto founder and president Mark Frohnmayer said in a statement after he took possession of the first production SRK.
The SRK is not alone in the three-wheeled EV market.
Other’s out there include the Morgan EV3, the Solo from Electra Meccanica and one from Quebec-based Girfalco called the Azkarra EV.
