BMW bumped the horsepower of their 4 Series models last year when they turned the 428i into the 430i and the 435i into the 440i for 2017, and now they're refreshing the rest of the car to go with the power for 2018. The revised 4 series will get revised suspension, slightly changed styling front and rear with upgraded headlights, and some interior changes.
The biggest change comes underneath, where the suspension has been stiffened on all coupe and Grand Coupe models. BMW says that the new set-up delivers sportier handling but doesn't sacrifice ride comfort. The M4 will get similar changes. Other changes to make the steering more communicative and improve straight line stability will apply to all 4 series models, including the convertible.
Inside, the 4 Series gets an improved optional navigation system that BMW says is easier to use. There is now also an optional multifunction instrument display that lets the driver choose how the instruments are displayed and configured. There is new electroplated trim and double stitching for the dash along with three new upholstery colours and interior trims available. The M4 gets some unique interior trim changes.
Outside, there are newly restyled headlights with LED lights available. All models get LED fog lights standard. There are changes to the grille detailing and air intakes to go with the new lights. In the rear, full LED tail lights are fitted for the first time. The rear bumper is also revised for a refreshed look.
