Volkswagen's Enthusiast Fleet Ready to Tour Shows This Summer

Volkswagen has unveiled five new show cars, dubbed the Enthusiast Fleet, that they are planning on touring to special events around the US. VW says that the cars are "inspired by the diverse interests of Volkswagen enthusiasts", and focus on style and performance.

The first is a Mark I Rabbit-inspired Bali Green Golf 1.8T. Old-school French style yellow headlights match the gold 19-inch BBS wheels. H&R street performance coil-overs lower the car two-inches and work to keep the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires planted. The black stripe along the bottom is a throwback to performance VW's past.

Next is a Jetta GLI in bright red. Wearing BFGoodrich g-force Rival tires on 18-inch Neuspeed wheels and H&R coil-overs, this Jetta can corner too. This one will also display all of the tools you need to convert it to track use, with a jack, stands, wrenches and track day wheels all fitting in the back with the seats down.

The bright blue vinyl wrapped Passat is on 20-inch Vossen wheels, and slammed to the ground on AccuAir airbag suspension. The airbags let you touch the ground at the show, but put it back at a reasonable height to head home. The trunk has custom wood flooring to show off the air-ride equipment.

The very purple GTI is on 20-inch gold Vossen wheels and is lowered on H&R coilovers to really give it that stanced look. The heritage stripe on the bottom is echoed on the cargo box, which VW says shows looks and performance work together, but I think it'll scrape if you put any cargo in there, or passengers inside.

Finally is a Golf R in white with a matte black vinyl wrap on the roof. 19-inch black Lugano wheels sit on H&R sport springs, for a subtle lowering. The springs are designed for the Golf R's dynamic chassis control, so work with VW's engineers rather than against them. It's a slight bit of flair rather than a serious change.
