NEW FOR 2015:
-Technology package available on Sport and Limited trims
Though the Impreza on which it's based got a styling refresh for 2015, the XV Crosstrek carries over unchanged mechanically, but gains an optional technology package that includes Subaru's well-executed EyeSight safety system. In our opinion, this is the best version of the Impreza (not counting the high-performance WRX variants), its elevated ride height and distinct body pieces giving it on-the-road presence the Impreza lacks.
Crosstrek mechanicals include a 2.0-litre ?boxer? four-cylinder that makes 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque and a five-speed manual; a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is the option. A hybrid model combines the 2.0-litre engine with an electric motor and the CVT. Naturally, all-wheel drive is standard regardless of your choice of motivation.
Trim levels include Touring, Sport, Limited and Hybrid. Sport and Limited models can be optioned with that EyeSight-based technology package; EyeSight comprises pre-collision braking, brake assist and throttle management, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane sway warning and lead vehicle start alert.
Touring trim comes standard with Bluetooth, six-speaker touchscreen stereo, satellite radio, sliding front centre armrest, automatic climate control, cruise control, map spotlights, driver's footrest, tilt-and-telescopic steering, dual visor-mounted vanity mirrors, power windows with driver auto up/down, body-colour door handles, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, fog lights, automatic headlights, black roof rails, 17-inch aluminum wheels, windshield wiper deicer, 4.3-inch multi-function vehicle information display, driver's knee airbag, backup camera, keyless entry, chrome interior door handles, and heated cloth seats with six-way manual adjustment.
Sport trim adds a sunroof, and leather-trimmed shifter and steering wheel.
Sport-Tech trim includes intelligent keyless entry with pushbutton start, automatic transmission, and EyeSight.
Limited trim adds navigation, larger touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, illuminated ignition switch, chrome outside door handles, HID headlights, side mirrors with turn signal repeaters, and leather seats.
The Limited-Tech package brings intelligent keyless entry with pushbutton start, EyeSight, automatic transmission, and steerable foglights.
Finally, Hybrid models delete the Limited-Tech's steerable foglights and EyeSight, but adds silver roof rails, rear roofline spoiler, and the gas-electric drivetrain.
