2003 Volkswagen Golf Wagon

by jehsee on 11-09-2017
Good ride, lots of maintenance though.
It has proven reliable if you have the money to keep up with the work, runs like a beauty when she's taken care of. Wouldn't suggest buying if you want something that basically takes care of itself though.

2012 Volkswagen Golf Wagon

Love the car
This car is a lot of fun to drive, the little turbo diesel engine has lots of torque and plenty of acceleration, the suspension is firm and responsive, and it just feels like a well engineered car. The fuel mileage is fantastic. Living near Sault Ste. Marie, I can easily drive all the way to Toronto on the small tank of diesel (routinely get 800-900 km per tank). I believe the mileage we achieve is about as good or better than the hybrids, and there's no multi-thousand dollar battery to replace in a few years.

Made for driving
This Diesel gets 1000km/tank, hugs the road, drives fantastic. The Clean Diesel engine purrs, you can hardly hear it. The Panoramic Sunroof is amazing especially at night under the stars. It is fun to drive, cheap to fuel and built by german engineering, solid car so you feel very safe. 6 Speed Manual is smooth and allows car to cruise on Hwy with ease. This car is a must see and drive.

Didnt expect to like it, but I love it!
The car has been much more than I expected. The highline interior is excellent and very comfortable. The fuel economy is outstanding and the performance is surprising. The car has so much torque that in real world driving it is faster than our V8 SUV.

Luxurious, Fun and functionnal
This compact wagon feels like an Audi and has more cargo space than small SUVs, don't let it's exterior dimensions fool you.

Fuel consumption in "REAL WORLD" driving will beat any Hybrid vehicle, especially on the highway. Don't be fooled by gas cars and SUVs and their highway fuel efficiency ratings.

I've owned a civic, corolla, mazda3, and currently a Yaris with less HP and they all could not match the fuel economy of the TDI. I've even rented a Prius and my fuel cost for 2 weeks was still more than what I currently pay.

The fuel economy is awesome.
I don't think there is a better wagon on the market. The interior is clean and functional, the ride is really quiet, and it's nothing like older diesels. It drives like a gas car, with lots of power and a very upscale ride.

2010 Volkswagen Golf Wagon

German design thinks of everything.
The Golf Wagon is a versatile car; awesome family vehicle without the mini-van stigma! The hatch allows easy transport of hockey gear to the kids early morning practices, and my late night ice-times. The dog, wet from the off-leash is in and out without concern. Easily collapsable back row, allows for a trip to hardware store, without the "help me move" expectation with a pick-up! Winter driving is cosy with the dual seat heaters, summer swelter is beat with the panoramic sunroof. You won't find me in another vehicle...any time of year!

the new Golf has a better looking back end
I love the car but it has only a few short comings.
When it's raining out, the back windows steam up when no one is in it. Makes me think there's a leak somewhere but when I hit it all over with the power washer I"m not seeing it.
Takes a little longer to warm up than the average car.
Handles great with the stock tires and aluminum rims.
Much better than my 99 which had body roll.
I should have invisible masked the front end as it's prone to paint chips. I already have a chipped windshield after only 33k and most of that is not on the highway.

Sporty yet Fuel Efficient
Fantastic car. Great stereo, with good connectivity Bluetooth etc. Very composed suspension, not harsh, yet good control over bumps. Nicely weighted steering. Lots of space to store and haul. Engine is quiet, very responsive, and has torque to get you moving where you need it, during normal traffic conditions. DSG transmission is wonderful, nice crisp shifts, great for downshifting. Interior quality seems very good.

2012 Volkswagen Golf Wagon

Trim: TrendLine
by JohnJohn on 10-25-2012
What a pleasant surprise!
I was hesitant to get into this car. However I wanted something that was fuel efficient with a good amount of trunk space.

Oh my.. What a pleasant surprise this car has been. I am 6ft'2 and I can sit very comfortably in the drivers seat. Then I can go to the back seat and still fit comfortably. Then.. I can go open up the trunk and fit 4 full size luggage! You will have PLENTY of space in this car!

Design is nothing to brag about. Everything is exactly where you expect it. A bit boring, but enough for an every day car.

As if this was not good news, now to the even better news. Is this fuel guage working ? On a trip to Michigan last week I got about 100km on about 7 or 8 liters of gas. Toronto to Detroit and back one fill up! Unbelievable.. Highway City driving is about 10L for 100km.

A fast little wagon with lots of umf and kick. I would however stick to the TrendLine of this car as the higher trims are significantly more money. Is a golf wagon really worth a sticker price of over $30,000.. Probably not!

As a first time owner of a VW, I am quite pleased with my purchase.

2011 Golf TDI Wagon Amazing Ride for the price
I have been driving this vehicle for 10 months and have put on 40,000 km. The fuel economy is amazing ! Fully loaded with heated leather seats and touch screen stereo. Decent room in the back and can carry 3 sets of hockey equipment when needed. Have had no maintenance issues, regular servicing is all that has been required and it goes 12,000 km on an oil change. Can't believe there aren't more diesel vehicles available to us in North America.

2009 Volkswagen Golf Wagon

Great Family Car
This car has been great for a family of four. Perfect for people who need the space but don't want an SUV. Lots of trunk room even with the car seats in the back seat. Without the car seats we were able to move a large piece of furniture with ease. Lots of leg room in the back seat. The one feature the newer version has but this one lacks is the ability to move the back seats up and down. IPOD hookup is great for the long road trips. The car is quiet compared to older Golfs and drives smooth.
