Avoid at all costs
Dont judge a book by its cover. The wave looks like a decent little car on the surface but it is absolutely the worst piece of junk ever made.My wife has one and we are upward of 7000.00 in repairs. It started about a month after the warranty was up with the alternator and has been non stop since. We will be trading it as soon as we are able and should have done so a long time ago.DO NOT BUY THIS CAR PLEASE. It has always had regular oil changes and maint. Here are just some of the issues we,ve had. Alternator, pwr steering pump multiple control arm and tie rod bushings, power window failure, electrical issues, multiple bent rims,

powerful!!!
Awesome power in such a small package!!! Also great on gas. I didnt expect it in the beginning as it looks like a larger sized car, but when I heard of the size of engine and then saw what it could do, I was amazed. Great value for the money!!!

Terrific Compact Car - Fantastic Gas Mileage
Handles amazing in Winter. Very reliable compact car. Great pick-up for such a small vehicle when you accelerate. The gas mileage is unbeatable especially with the price of gas these days.
Great City Car. I recommend this car to all my friends looking for a new car!

very reliable car
I brought it used in 2007, with only regular maintenance needed. It's a very practical car, reliable, good on gas too. It took us everywhere - beach, camping, fishing, tobogganing... local, long distance, summer, winter, no problem. We had lots of fun with it. Being a hatch back, it is like magic, we could carry almost anything. I once carried a brand new inbox 60 inch TV in it.

Amazing first time or single person car
This car has never let me down. Handles well in winter if you drive it with care. It's very light so it doesn't really get stuck easy although I drove mine with studded tires so that made a difference too. I previously drove a '96 neon and the sound system was a lot nicer sounding than the one in this car. It does rev high on the hwy which is a downside but otherwise is really good on fuel (amazing actually). It is super fun to drive, zips around great. The inside is pretty small so not ideal for a family vehicle as the car seat behind the driver side takes away a lot of space for the driver. Otherwise there is plenty of space. I joke about it being a 'clown car' because i can almost always fit anything I need in it.

Best Car I have Ever owned.
I purchased this 2007 Pontiac Wave new from the dealership and have been extremely satisfied with its performance; its mileage/ litre (gallon) and its overall highway use. Great pick-up for such a small vehicle when you accelerate.

The BEST feature of this used car is that it has ONLY just over 36,000 km.

Fuel Economy with faults!
Although, this car has good fuel economy within the city, it revs way too high on the highway and thus gets a lower fuel highway rating than a 6 cylinder. But, before you purchase this car, you should be prepared to spend all the savings from gas consumption and then some, to repair this vehicle. I purchased a 2006 Wave hatchback used in 2010, unaware of what problems the previous owner may have had. In the 3 years I have owned it, I have replaced both front wheel bearings twice..both front struts... both front sway link bars...the right side control arm...the left side drive axle...the PCM..and the clutch! A good quality car should not have these extensive repairs, brakes, tires, tune ups, and minor repairs should be the only concern on a vehicle that was only 4 years old! These repairs may seem extensive, but I am one of the lucky Wave owners, others I have spoken to have had to replace full engines and transmissions! Beware if you plan to purchase one of these Korean nightmares (GM's part ownership with DAEWOO Motors). My next car will definitely be a Toyota...I was a die hard GM owner for 20 years, but this car has made me see the light and I will never purchase another GM made vehicle...they are going too cheap in order to save their company!

great second car or car for child or grad
We owned this car for two years and my daughter graduated and bought a new car herself. We don't need a second car reason for selling. Total cost of repairs over two years was less tha $950.00 including, tires, brakes, one wheel bearing and oil changes done every 8000 kms. All repairs for MVI as noted in inspection completed including new brake drum and link kit.Very reliable transportation, great in snow, interior in good condition. Tires in great condition only used in summer. Most miles are highway miles. Remote starter was convenient in winter, only drawback is no a/c. In summer.

Great economy car!
I've mainly used this vehicle for inner-city driving. It does handle just find on the highway as I've driven Regina to Winnipeg and Regina to Calgary a couple times.

With synthetic oil, engine remote start works at -30 without preheating the engine. (although plug in as often as you can)

Rear seats fold down to assist in hauling goods. Seats 4 comfortably but can fit a fifth person in the back. I've hauled camping gear a few times. It packs in quite nicely.

Sony stereo works with CD's and MP3 CD's. Also picks up AM and FM radio. Removable faceplate with remote and carrying case. 12" CVR sub woofers give a nice bang, but if you'd like to sell them you could get around $200-300 on any used goods website.

All-in-all this vehicle provides great fuel economy, yet stands up to Canadian winters and driving conditions. It's a fantastic student car, and is great for a first timer learning to drive manual transmission.

I enjoy the savings in fuel
Very economical. have had minor issues mechanical wise. after 100,000 kms I did need to do the timing belt and serp belt which had cost a bit. When its windy the car does get blown around the highway a bit but handles ok for the most part.

An Economic option.
I have had my Pontiac Wave since 2008 and have loved it thus far. She has served her purpose well and definitely saved my family money when it comes to fuel expenses. I have recently had some wiring issues where she decides that she just doesn't want to start after having been run and then turned off. The wiring problems are also affecting my front left headlight and some of the lights in the interior. Until these problems though there has been no other issues. My car has seen a lot of highway use and in city use as it has been the main vehicle for my family. Though it is almost time for an upgrade as my family is growing I would say that as a first vehicle the pontiac wave is amazing.

Love my little car !
This has to be the best car I have even driven. It may be small, but it gets me from place to place and I love it.
I got it in April 2012 and never had a problem with it! Summer 2012 I worked at a camp about a half hour from my house and I use to take 4 other people with me. It was a tight squeeze but we didn't complain.
I would love it even more if it would heat up faster, but it's winter so there's not much I can do about that.

Great Little City Car!
I just bought this car from a used car dealer who purchased it from a franchise dealer at 106,000 kms on it. I think this is a great little city car! It is the 'loaded' version, but don't expect it to have luxury trimmings. There's no power lock button inside the car, only on the key fob, but everything else inside is pretty good. It gets a little rumbly at 120km's/hr, but its a little V4 so its understandable. There is no automatic 'sealed' setting for the sunroof so you have to fiddle with it to get it to close. Besides small things im loving this little thing!
