Oldsmobile Intrigue 1998-2005Change

I enjoy driving this Olds. It has many options that were way ahead of its time; e.g, automatic radio volume, split climate control, automatic temperature control, auto-traction, oil change reminder, .... It pulls a utility trailer nicely and fits a roof rack with car-top box well. Lots of leg room and cargo space.

I loved this car. Heats up so fast with the V6 engine, handles amazing on our slippery winter roads and on gravel. Very spacious with extremely comfy leather heated seats.

I have had a great experience with this car. It is a very smooth and comfortable ride and have never had any issues. Regular Service Maintenance has always been done.

A Definite Must See!!

This cardrives like a boat, the transmission slips, there are electrical issues on all window controls and the sterio, all lights on the dash get scalding hot, same gas mileage as an suv. Not worth investing your time or money in to.

5 years of great reliability , good winter car, put 50000 Kim's in 5 years drove it everyday for work and school engine and transmission are strong

This has been a great car. The engine is bullet prove, the handling fun and the body has no rust. Performance sedan,
No problems with the engine, just normal replacement of hoses,
brakes, filter and oil, etc. My only beef is the tape deck. I believe
the Intrigue is a excellent car.

This car has a very smooth ride and handles very well.The rest will be up to you for a test drive it.

Bought the car new in 2002, Dark Ocean Teal with sunroof. Since its the last of its kind, have had it stored in the winter, and used as a summer car. As of May 24/13 Has round 70,000 km and drives live new. Its amazing what the engine/undercarriage looks like when no salt and slush deposit on it. Rust-free and has showroom finish, gets around 35 mpg and drives well.

Fantastic car... 35+ mpg highway and dependable. I could leave for a 5000 mile trip if I had to leave tomorrow, with no hesitation about the road worthiness of the car. Car should be good for at least another 100,000 Km. Has lots of power to spare with the 3.5 L V-6. Have had no major mechanical issues over the last 10 years.

Only had a some small minor issues but nothing that caused me any worries. I do make it a point to do regular maintenance on my vehicle.

I love it... it is comfortable rides really nice and is affordable. I have had some isssues with the fluids however, lots of leaks.

Purchased as a "just need a car" vehicle and I'm stunned by it's reliability and comfort. I've never been a fan of front wheel drive but with the traction control turned off it's very driveable and is stunning in the snow. The 3.8l motor is not exactly a powerhouse but it has adequate power for daily use. I'd recommend this car to anyone who wants a north american made reliable grocery getter.

it never stops even if the warning lights come all on it just keeps on going ... love it ..... take it on the road anywhere and let her ride ,, My husband just loves this car ... if you need a car that after driving for miles on end and get out to stretch you will find it was a fantastic ride for your body too.. We are the second owners to this vehicle and we got it at low miles ... and now is over 190 and still going .. strong dependable . like i said in a heart beat would buy another car like this one and highly recommend it to all family and friends.. now you have it. :)

It is a great car. Love the features it has and the way it handles the road. They say it was designed by a woman so that would explain why I love it so much.

Well i don't know about anybody else, but I've had all kinds of weird electrical problems with this POS. The right blinker keeps blowing out every time I change it. The A/C flat out doesn't work at all. Fortunately the heater works. The power windows only work sometimes. Other than that, it's comfortable, easy to drive, and has a pretty good engine/transmission combo. Wish it was a little easier to work on though.

I purchased this car when it was 2 years old and love it ever since. I wish they are still making them. Great handling and mileage, looks nice and is very comfortable, love it. The only problem was power window switch problem on driver's side. The problem I have now is freon leak, but car is old now and I don't care. Very happy I purchased an Intrigue.

Reliable, dependable, and comfortable. I'm pretty happy with this car over-all, its not the dream car but for my first car its beyond what I expected.

Great car with lots of power but it wont empty your wallet at the pumps! Interior is well designed and comfortable. very good family car.

Love the features this car has and the way it handles on the road. It is a great car in the snow and has traction control which is great. The style of this car is sporty looking also.

Owned since Dec 2009. Bought with only 60k on odometer. Now has 144k. Only 2 things have been issues - Driver side window motor replaced and driver side wheel bearing replaced. Everything else has been as per regular maintainence. I avg 12-14L city driving, and about 10L on the highway. BUT! I have a lead foot! This is no performance car, but it doesn't stop me from having fun :) The truck is huge! The 3.5L engine is a ROCK! As i said, I drive hard, and there are no leaks anywhere in the engine. Mine is the fully loaded GLS model and 2002 was the last year for this car. The interior is very nice and I get compliments on the interior from other passengers. The back seat can seat 3 for a short trip and the seats overall are very comfy. The heated front seats warm the tushy and the lower back! The cluster is clear and easy to read. Well equipped and has all the bells and whistles anyone woudl need, when looking for a used vehcile in this price range. One note, I have also owned the 1998 Intrigue with the 3.8L engine, and I can safely say, the 3.8L engine is much better in performance and fuel economy! I won't comment on the styling as that is a personal choice. My reason for buying this car initially and the 2nd time was strictly reliability and features.

I was walking down the streets of Fredericton in 1998....and saw a gorgeous black car slide bay. The Oldsmobile Intrgue had caught my eye, and I bought one in Toronto a few months later.
We still own it, with 120K on the odometer.
Its been a great car - I wish they still made them. I would buy another immediately.
The styling has held up perfectly - it still looks great.
The engine is wonderful. Doesnt consume oil, great power, nice sound.
And for me, the rims on the 1998/99 Oldsmobile are the best looking rims ever made. And so easy to clean compared to the complex rims made today (think of that when you are eyeing all those deep angles - they will clog with brake dust and you wont be able to get it out!).
Anyways....great car. Too bad its gone. Buy a low mileage used one.

I have owned this car for about two years now, and it has been relatively reliable over that course. As with anything certain things go wrong with the car and have to be replaced over time. The mileage used to be great, but as it nears the end of its life the fuel economy has begun to decrease. Only issue i have with it now is that i have to turn the key a few tries to get the engine really going. Other than that the car is perfect.
