Ford Ranger 1986-2012Change

Ive had this truck for about a year now. Used. If you take care of it. oil change etc. It will run forever without a hitch!

Having owned and driven a 2010 Ford ranger for over a year now I can describe my experience as being a pleasurable one. The ranger I drive has never let me down in terms of getting me from point a to point b when I need it to, and has reliably performed in all weather conditions including ice and snow. The fuel economy is excellent in the city for a v6 4.0L engine, and even better mileage on the highway. The design is easy on the eyes in this classic line of pickup. The 6 foot box provides a surprisingly good amount of storage. Easy to maintain and service. This truck is everything I could ask for in a small pickup. 4 out of 5 stars overall!! :)

Great truck! I've have kept it undercoated from day one and with 172000 km's everything is great. Original clutch and i still get 35 mpg imperial with the 2.3 four cylinder. I have had over 700lbs of aluminum in this truck and pulled away on a hill no problem. As for maintenance basic wear items breaks, shocks, spark plugs, wires, universals, and pinion seal. One word of advice though it's easier just to go to the deal to get these parts. I have put after market plugs in the truck and it misfired for a month before i figured it out.

If you're looking for a truck thats smaller, this is the right one for you. Gas mileage could be a little better, small cab space.

I was very surprised for being a pick up truck it held the road very well in the winter.

I never had any trouble with it mechanically or in passing the E test for emissions. The interior for a 10 year old truck has held up better than expected. Even the paint looks like it just came off the show room floor.

Even though it has always been lady driven. I have on many occasions used the box. In fact the box liner other than a few scratches, typical of using a pickup truck, does not have any cracks in it and is still complete and in its original place.

I love the little Ford Ranger and would defiantly buy another one !!!

The ranger is a decent car. It is a smooth ride and has good fuel economy for a bigger car. I did have transmission trouble which has been know to occur on these cars from word of mouth. All in all its not too pricey so it gives you a good bang for your buck

Had my 04 Edge 2WD since 07...besides regular maintenance , this truck has never let me down. Great work vehicle for hauling, easy to drive and park for everyday use. Have a F150 Lariat and though its a nice truck I still prefer my Ranger. 3.0 V6 isn't the strongest but its good mated to the 5spd manual.
Overall...this has been the most dependable vehicle that I've owned

My Ford Ranger has been nothing but great since I bought it secondhand a few years back. Aside from a couple servicing issues that come with age it has been an awesome, reliable vehicle and i definitely recommend Rangers to anyone looking for a smaller pick up. It would also be a wonderful first car for a young adult.

had a ranger for 13 years was great so bought a newer one was very reliable and never had any major problem

This truck has taken me from point A to B and back many times. Have been to another province to pick up furniture from storage. Moved many soiled items from the great flood in Calgary. Wouldn't drive another truck but this one.

The Ford Ranger is a reliable truck that will take you from A to B. It is nothing flashy, not fast but if you take care of it then it will take care of you.

I wouldn't change my 2002 Ford Ranger Edge Extended cab 4x4 for anything. It is yellow and has a short box with rounded rear fenders. It is a 4 liter automatic and easy on fuel. It is a very dependable vehicle.

I enjoyed this small truck a lot, it was powerful enough for my daily activities and quite the smooth ride when driving on the highways.

It did not like the congested streets of the city, but it was able to handle with precision and taking care of the passengers

This is my third Ranger. my first two were leases.
The engine in unstoppable. it is solid, handles well, ample power, tows well. all three Rangers never needed front brakes till 80k, rear till about 150k. May lack a few creature comforts but less things to go wrong. truck is at 180k and performs brand new no loss of power no oil loss or burning. truck has taken and handled everything its been asked to do.

This truck is in awesome shape. Has been well loved. Never given us any issues. Has not been driven in the winter has been oiled well. 4x4 works great and the lights on the back rack are perfect to light up the night.

Everywhere I read claims this trucks gets excellent fuel mileage, however, that's only if you never go faster than 85 km/h. Just bootin around a city is fine, but country folks beware!

Also turning on the air conditioning seems to burn through fuel a lot faster as well.

It's a sturdy and reliable little truck, so long as you don't mind going slow, and aren't interested in performance.

My review reflects my truck: a base model Ranger.

Fuel economy is outstanding with the 4 cylinder--it's easy to get over 30 mpg, but the performance is barely adequate. Can't have it all. I have actually gotten well over 900km on a tank on a few occasions.

I have over 80,000 km (50k miles) on it and it hasn't been in a garage yet for a repair.

One quirk: I find the oil gets dirty faster than other vehicles I have owned--maybe because of the gear ratio and how hard the 4 banger has to work.

Ford Rangers are the best light truck you could possible want. The 6 cylinder has a lot of power and can tow up to 6000 lbs and the 4x4 version is absolutely amazing off-road or in the snow. I would buy another Ranger in an instant.

Nice little truck, Easier to find a parking spot than it's big gas guzzling brothers. Smooth riding and comfortable seating. Air Conditioning blows nice and cold even on the hottest summer days. Passenger compartment gets nice and toasty even on minus 35 Celsius days. The Sirius satellite radio makes driving through the mountains an even more pleasurable dive with great selection of stations and no "Dead Zones"

No problems in 5 years..Better than factory service. Great on gas. New Chrome running boards. Box Liner not a bed liner. Brakes upto date with premium parts. AM/FM CD MP3.

one of the best vehicles I have driven in bad weather. always goes through the snow with no problem. starts first time always goes where other cars will not dare to go.\

I purchased my Ranger brand new back in 2006 as an early model 2007. She's been with me across Canada, through all weather and never once let me down. She really shines during the cold winter months, always starts (even with original battery, starter and alternator!), and I have NEVER had to shovel (even when she was buried half way up the doors!). She can be a little thirsty on fuel but mechanics love the simple lay out and easy access to components. In eight years and 136000 km, I have changed the tires once, the front brakes (discs and pads) once, and swapped the tie rods up front. That's it, that's all. This truck is a little beast. it's pretty "bare bones" if you're used to technology and a ton of bells and whistles. I love the absense of carpet and the vinyl flooring is key if you tend to get her out in the woods to camp, fish, etc. I love this truck and you would too.

For a small truck, this Ford Ranger has done me well. It is easy to drive and park. It can carry just about anything in the back and has great towing capabilities. The cab is great for two people, three can sit fairly comfortably in the front and although a bit squishy for adults, the two back jumper seats are great for kids. Keeping the jumper seats folded down, they make a good shelf as well for storage. The manual transmission makes this truck fun to drive and very responsive on the highway.

The four wheel drive is reliable and is all automatic with a flick
of the switch on the dash. The hubs are automatic as well and
has a very low range for steep areas.
This vehicle also has great towing capacity.
It is a very fun truck to drive on or off the road.
