Ford Contour 1995-2007Change

Beyond reliable, rarely broke down, drove this lovely car across country a few times and not even once I had an issue with the car

I've had this SVT Contour almost since new - had 3000km on it when I purchased it in summer of 2000. The Contour was a great little car to begin with -- essentially the Mondeo from Ford of Europe -- and Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) made it into something very special.

The juiced-up, high output V6 revs great, sounds great, and is still going strong after almost 15 years and 150,000km. There is plenty of power: testing by the car magazines gave 0-100km/h times of 6.7 seconds, and the suspension tweaks by the SVT people give it handling that would be the envy of any BMW.

The Ford sound system was not so good, but that was an easy upgrade.

I would rate the car a 5 across the board, but because of the small backseat and its thirst for the required premium fuel, I feel obliged to give it a 4 on comfort and fuel economy.

This gem gets great fuel mileage, lots of power, and looks great. Hate the cupholders, and is only meant for 2 people, as when the seats are back all the way, nobody can get in the back seat. Would definitely buy it again tho!!

i have always hated ford but this car shown me that i was wrong and sometimes u need to try someting out befor you hate on it

I bought this car used and it has served me well. I can count on it to start in very cold weather, without being plugged in. I do find the original headlights and wipers leave a lot to be desired, but once replaced they work well.

Has been a good car with no major repairs yet. It looks stylish and rides smooth and is good on mileage.

This car served us for many years. Extremely reliable vehicle that is inexpensive to maintain and repair. The car is great on gas making it a very economical family car. The interior is roomy enought to seat five ocmfortably with lots of cargo room in the deep trunk. Exterior styling is a bit outdated but still looks sharp.

I have had this car for a few years now and its not too bad, I mean for how old it is you would think it would be always breaking down, but its not.. its still going strong.

overall it's not a bad car for gas mileage, the design is nice, spacious, controls nicely on open road.

i have had this car for 5 years and i have never had a problem with it. It has driven through snow, rain, mud and I have never been stranded. its the most reliable car I have ever owned.

I bought this car in a pinch 8 years ago and I have had zero problems with it. It has tons of power for a little V6 sedan, it's comfortable and super reliable. It's also surprisingly great in the snow. I have a pretty crazy driveway and when everyone else has to go into 4x that car just zips right up, no problem. My one big complaint, however, would be visibility at night. The headlight lens need to be replaced as they have yellowed over the years. Other than that. surprisingly a really great little car.

Great car, under-rated, V6 very smooth, handles well. Stereo not the best but easily upgraded. Great in the winter and on the highway
