I got this car second hand.It was a rent a car for a year.The best money I ever spent! I kept it for 12 years and it was still going when I sold it.Easy on gas, a cute sporty looking car.

my experience with this car has been fairly good, with some minor hickups. i have had to replace the battery, alternator and starter on multiple occasions. over i have not had to put much money into it but it adds up. good car for a cheap price, with some minor cheap fixes

I love owning a 98 cavalier cus it is a reliable strong car.
They have small engines which makes them super fuel efficient. If you are learning to drive, this car is the best.
If you have to repair anything they are super easy to work on.

Bought new, off the lot. Thought I was getting a good cheap car. Got the cheap. Got the car. Forgot the good at the lot apparently.

Great little thing to get from point A to point B however, the MPGs are not the best, and the ride is not the most comfortable. They are/were suppose to be correcting all the problems in the Cav, and changing the name to Cobalt.

The rating lacks a spot for Safety. Here's my opinion. None. It crumbles like a juice box once hit, and is one of the easiest cars to steal/break into.

i have had my vehicle only for half a year but it is a most wonderful car! very fuel efficient and easy to drive.

This car has been amazing on gas and very reliable. We have had very minimal problems with this car. No major issues at all! The gas mileage is amazing as well. Very affordable family friendly car.

Its was our first car. We didnt have that much experience with vehicles back then and it was what we could afford. It was good while it lasted. It had a few minor issues in the beginning but after almost a year that we had it, it started having major problems like the oil leaking, etc. I would say that Chevy makes sturdy cars. We got into an accident in it. We were rear-ended by a 10 wheeler. We were unharmed but the car's rear compartment was smashed. It was not too bad though compared to how it would've been if it was a different make. We love it non-the-less but it had to be replaced after that.

The engine thrust is quite smooth and not choppy. The roar of the engine sounds really healthy for the car and the fuel economy could be better, but it's always a fun ride for me!

This is my third Cavy and I wouldn't dream of buying any other car. Such great gas mileage with parts available, new and used, for very reasonable prices make it a great value to own and dirive.

It has gotten us to and from many destinations. Very reliable and excellent on gas. Very family friendly vehicle with alot of trunk space.

Not a lot of repairinbg to do. Good for saving money, not for speed or beauty. Fuel seems to be consumed normally compared to other car.

At this age, it's impressive that this car is still on the road, but with a lot of TLC, it still runs. Rust develops around the wheel wells, it doesn't idle well but amazingly still runs. If you own this car, you probably know these things already. It might be tough to get a safety on a vehicle like this, but if you find one in good shape, it might be a good first vehicle for a teenager with a freshly-printed driver's license.

This mini van does its job but it seems like it needs more repairs than other mini vans out there. If you're looking for a mini van I wouldn't really recommend it although I wouldn't say it's an awful purchase either.
