Acura RSX 2002Change

The RSX Type-S is a car that has a good balance between fun, practicality, and fuel economy. The 2.0L i-VTEC engine is happy to rev up while still maintaining great mileage and providing a flat torque curve. The 6-speed transmission shifts effortlessly and smoothly into the desired gear. The suspension is a bit firm for confirm but rewards you with crisp handling.

I've had my 2002 RSX since Halloween 2006. It has an aftermarket Greddy turbo kit. It really adds some oomph. The drive train has held up well considering the extra power. I just replaced on original driveshaft back in July 2016. On the engine I've only had to replace an original broken knock sensor. I always use synthetic oil and premium gas. Mine has lowering springs so rides a bit stiff but nothing punishing. The cargo room is great. I fit in four 19 inch tires and a sub box with the seat backs down. The fuel economy is decent. I get about 400 kms (250 miles) until the low fuel light in town with spirited driving. The cons are I wish it had a bit more technology like steering wheel controls. Plus the seats are a bit firm and the stitching isn't too strong. The build quality is quite good though.

This car is the most reliable vehicle that I have ever driven/owned. It may be a 2002 year, but it is still solid both in body and in motor. I give credit to Honda for making a vehicle that cat perform like this in handling, performance and in reliability.

Bought this car new and have nothing but good to say about the Acura RSX-Type S.
Have driven it to California, Texas, Alaska and Ontario so have lots of highway experience. Handles very well and has all the power and passing ability one could want. When you need the "get up and go" for passing a slower vehicle, just step on the gas and the iVTech kicks in all 210 HP and gives you a turbo like boost at 6000 rpm. Gives one a great deal of confidence to pass that trailer/truck/RV, etc. on any road.
Also, because of the front wheel drive, I never had any problems with winter driving even with all season tires since all the vehicle weight sits over the drive wheels and gives needed traction.
The hatchback design has proven incredibly useful for cargo.
With the back seats down and covered with a mat, I have been able to carry just about anything, including my 130 lb. dog !
And all this in a GREAT looking vehicle.
Long Story Short.....if they still made this car (which they don't), I would buy a new one without hesitation.

Great car, especially for a young person who doesn't care about looking middle-aged and who has to drive a lot, particularly through busy city traffic. Lots of fun to drive, and reliable!

This car is great on gas, no oil leaks or fumes. All it needs is a paint job and it's as good as new. It also has a great sound system! A perfect first car or even just a car to get from point A to point B.

Drove my 02 for 10 years to work and back (100 + K) and did not have a single failure. Fun to drive, great grip on the road and still looks cool.

I've had my RSX for about 6 months and i love my car. Its fa st and i love its sleek design. It does handle well but has a very stiff suspension and can be uncomfortable at times when driving over bumps. This is also my first 2 door car and i dislike having to get out constantly to let people out. Overall i would recommend this car to anyone who is interested in tuners.

My RSX Type S
Hands down the best car I have ever owned. Although it only has 60,000K it has never given me any problems what so ever. Always winter stored and maintained , car is literally in showroom condition. but its time to part ways with it, and for someone else to enjoy it. even thou this review is biased it is a great car and will last the new owner a long time. Please have a look and consider our RSX. This has been a fantastic low-maintenance car that our friends always remark about. It still looks great after 10 years. My wife and I are the only owners. We've upgraded to a new car and can't keep the RSX. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend, but sometimes you have to move on. Make us a good offer and we'll consider it. Thanks.

This car is extremely inexpensive to own an is very fun to drive. It feels light and nimble which instills confidence that you know exactly where the edge of traction is. It is very comfortable for 2 adults, and with the rear seats down you can pack a lot of stuff into it. The rear seats are not very useful for adults. The exhaust provides a growl that kept me looking for an excuse to put the windows down. :o)

I wish I could keep it, but I need something that seats 4 adults for car pooling.

I have been driving my 2002 Acura RSX since I was 18 and I still love it, although it is finally starting to feel a bit dated. I am extremely disappointed that they discontinued the line (as my first car was a 1988 Acura Integra). I have never had any mechanical problems with it, although there were some issues at one point with the computer system (which they fixed for free at the dealership!). My one complaint is that the paint on the red model I own has become very faded over time, though this may be the case with all vehicles with bright red paint.

I've owned my RSX for over 6 years and love it. It's a black Type-S that's turbocharged and lowered on 19' chrome rims. I always get compliments on it being called sexy and sick. Iove the heated leather racing seats and the interior. There are tons of aftermarket parts for it too. The turbo really show's its power, pulling form 2500rpm and spins tires in third a bit. Just get this car.

This is a fantastic all around car for someone who commutes a lot or wants a sporty good looking ride. Pretty darn peppy from the factory, and the K20A2 loves to rev high and the redline is at 8,200. It is built on the DC2 chassis. It has independent rear suspension, and rides pretty decent. I'll admit it sometimes strains my back as the roads in my town are pretty bad, but I have a bad back. Fuel economy is fine. What you'd expect out of a 4-banger. Interior is awesome, all leather, heated seats, mirrors, etc. The car only seats 4 maximum and has 2 doors making it not very viable for a family transporter. Never has broken down on me once, although through the years it has had a couple minor problems, but they sorted themselves out without ever needing a repair...

Best car I have ever owned, sold my first RSX Type S, bought a Subaru WRX loved it but not as much as my RSX so I sold the WRX and bought another RSX Type S! Keep in mind that I am a Subaru fanboy! WRX was indeed a much better performing car than the RSX was though. In the end it all comes down to personal taste, and those two cars will gives you a hard time to choose which ones you like better.

This car is incredibly fun to drive in the summer time. IT handles like a dream and sounds really great. I love the features on it. My friends and family cant believe that the car is over 10 years old because it looks great and the features are so updated.

I have had this vehicle since January 2008, and have driven it as my daily commuter year-round and continue to do so. They don't make cars like this anymore. As this car is entirely custom this makes it rare, unique, and one-of-a-kind - and those are factors I value and add value to the car.

The vehicle has been babied since day one and everything has been meticulously maintained and upgraded to better condition then when it was originally purchased (ex. sound and entertainment system, better performance tires, HID kit, etc) - it has one of the loudest custom sound systems you will ever hear - great for individuals who really enjoy their music. This car has been a god-send in the fact that there have been no major repairs only the genral wear-tear maintenance of any vehicle.


The auto is great for young drivers as a first or second vehicle, or for those that value customization. The only reason for selling this vehicle is I require something more "business" and with more trunk space for work. Otherwise, a great vehicle that has served me well and continues to give me attention for the right reasons daily.

This car is very easy on gas and runs well, and looks sleek and sporty. The heated leather seats are great for the winter over all a great . I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a nice looking car that's easy to maintain and cheap on fuel. The only complaint i have had is that you cannot fit three people in the back seat as there are only to seat belts and its a tight fit for even two people in the back. which is kind of to be excepted for a sporty car. Worth every dollar i spent on it

This car is very quick for its size, while also being pretty good on gas. It handles well and its a 2 door but it has quite a bit of trunk space available, even without putting the back seats down. It looks great from the outside too.

I absolutely loved this car. No problems whatsoever. Live on a farm now so had to sell it since it was no longer practical. Would have kept it forever if I lived in town. Hopefully they make a new one again soon!

if there was a newer model of the RSX, i would've definitely bought another one. 100% reliable, and great on fuel and just enough power to pass all the slow moving cars! loved the bucket seats, however, interior is simple with no usb or bluetooth capability

I have had this car for over 10 years and have never had any problems with it. Its a great, fast little car with good gas mileage.

In some ways this car was a mistaken. I didn't get it in stick and I got it with the A-Spec package and since it was 2nd hand came with a loud exhaust which drew a lot of attention...mostly with disdain. But outside of that it did everything a Honda is supposed to do. Be reliable, good on gas, deliver sporty performance and look decent....better than decent. Lots of space in the hatch. The rear seats are not really seats. With friends at the back the car does feel like it's lugging when you need to change lanes on the highway.

Been driving this car for 10 years and only required minor maintenance. Fuel economy is great and don't have any problems. Have over 250,000km on the car and still going!!
