Good old Minivan
I've driven minivans for 25 years now, ever since our first Dodge Caravan 4 cylinder manual transmission woody wagon back in the early 80's.
We tried Oldsmobile vans for a few years, but I firmly believe Dodge has this segment figured out, in terms of value.
Our current Grand Caravan has been reliable, with no major outages in 9 years. at 153,000 km, the mileage is getting up there, and as with all our Caravans, the transmission is showing signs of deterioration.
But you cant beat the price and storage capability. The mileage tradeoff between a minivan and a small car isnt big enough to make me switch.
Would I buy another Caravan? Reluctantly, absolutely. Someday I'll get my Mazda Miata and have a little fun.......

Getting better, good value - high repair bills
Got my Caravan about a year ago and have already had to do a full brake job. (28,000km) at a cost of almost $1000.00. The new motor is very good and strong but the 6spd trans is still a week point. Shifts at low and high rpm can be harsh, slow and clunky. Considering its low low starting price can be good value, just watch for hefty repair bills.

A good family van
A good family van for a large family up to 7. Perfect for long trips. Good CD/DVD system. Big room and big power for anything you need carry. But the power windows and power doors are not durable. No windows at passenger side.
