NEW FOR 2014:
-Plug-in Hybrid model replaces last year's regular Hybrid
-Long-wheelbase option
-New twin-turbo V6 for S models
-Revised styling
Porsche's sedan gains two new variants for 2014: a plug-in version of the S Hybrid model, and a long-wheelbase bodystyle marketed as the Executive trim. As before, the Panamera comes in base and S trims that can both be optioned with all-wheel drive, while all other models come standard with it.
The lineup opens with base and Panamera 4 models, which share a 3.6L V6 (310 hp/295 lb-ft of torque). Panamera S, 4S and 4S Executive use the new 3.0L twin-turbo V6 making 420 hp/384 lb-ft. The S e-Hybrid combines a 3.0L V6 with an electric motor for a total of 416 hp/435 lb-ft. GTS trim is powered by a 4.8L V8 good for 440 hp/384 lb-ft. Turbo models use a twin-turbocharged 4.8L V8 that generates 520 hp/516 lb-ft, and Turbo S cars improve those numbers to 570 hp and 553 lb-ft. The S e-Hybrid model uses an eight-speed automatic transmission; all others get a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Standard features include 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, engine auto start/stop, electric parking brake, power trunk, sunroof, automatic rear spoiler, power windows with auto up/down, keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles and side mirrors, auto-dimming mirrors, power-folding side mirrors, Bluetooth, navigation, automatic bi-Xenon headlights, LED daytime running and brake lights, front knee airbags, rear-seat side airbags, eight-way heated front seats, and a heated tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel.
S and 4S models add steerable headlights with automatic range control.
S e-Hybrid models get air suspension, electric power steering, hybrid drive display, and a range of convenience functions, like preheating or precooling the interior, parking location and charge status that can be accessed remotely via smartphone.
4S Executive models include 19-inch wheels, comfort heated and ventilated rear seats with adjustable head restraints, adjustable backrest and bottom cushion depth and four-way lumbar adjustment. Rear-seat passengers get dual-zone climate control, and power sunscreens for side and rear windows.
GTS trim comes with Turbo-style 19-inch wheels.
Turbo models get red brake calipers, load-levelling air suspension, adaptive rear spoiler, twin-tube tailpipes, upgraded stereo, steerable headlights, 14-way power front seats, heated rear seats, power-adjustable steering wheel, leather-trimmed dash and Alcantara headliner.
Finally, Turbo S cars get 20-inch wheels, dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring plus, sports exhaust, sport chrono package, body-colour spoiler, and unique side skirts.
