Whatever the need in a go-fast Mopar, there’s a Challenger just right for your tastes and budget – not to mention a never-ending torrent of special-edition models packed with collector-car flair. A recent one of these is the 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A – a model to commemorate the Trans Am racing cars of the seventies. Special graphics are applied, as is a unique satin finish which covers the roof, trunk and hood. Said hood gets hood-pins for further old-school looks, and the T/A wears the same hood scoop and air-catcher lights as the Challenger Hellcat. In fact, Challenger T/A is a uniquely selected collection of ingredients from the Dodge performance parts bin, and the intake system and hood aren’t the only Hellcat-derived tweaks.

On certain vehicles, an electronic fault may create a situation where the cruise control cannot be deactivated. If this occurs and the driver does not apply the brakes or shift the transmission to neutral, the vehicle could maintain speed or accelerate without warning, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software and perform an update as necessary. Note: In the interim, owners are advised not to use the cruise control until the vehicle is repaired.

On certain vehicles equipped with the Hellcat engine, the engine oil cooler line could separate at the crimp of the hose to the aluminum tube. This could lead to a rapid loss of engine oil which could spray on the windshield impairing visibility, cause engine seizure and/or, in the presence of an ignition source, increase the risk of fire. These conditions could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the engine oil cooler lines.

Certain vehicles equipped with a 5.7L V8 engine and a 8HP70 automatic transmission may not maintain a mechanical PARK when the shift lever is moved in the PARK position and the engine is left running. If the operator exits the vehicle in this condition, the vehicle could roll away, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will re-flash the Transmission Control Module (TCM) with an updated software.
