Issue: On certain vehicles, the rearview camera does not return to the default settings when it turns on. This could make the rearview image difficult to see if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display brightness at or near the lowest setting, and contrast at or near the highest setting. Canadian regulations require that the rearview display returns to the default view each time the camera is turned on. Safety Risk: Reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rearview camera. Drivers are recommended not to adjust the display brightness at or near the lowest setting, and contrast at or near the highest setting, until this recall is completed.

Issue: On one vehicle, the front passenger seatback frame may not have been properly welded. This could cause the seatback to fail if it is loaded heavily (like in a crash). Safety Risk: A seatback that fails in a crash could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify the owner by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the front passenger seat structure.

On certain vehicles, a problem with the rear brake system may cause gas bubbles to form in the brake fluid. This could cause a soft brake pedal feel and a reduction in brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will bleed the rear brakes.

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CVMSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The rear turn signal lamps on the tailgate of the vehicle may flash in amber, while the outboard rear turn signal lamps flash red, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could result in following road users being confused by the turn signal lamps simultaneously flashing red and amber, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the rear turn signal lamps and replace them if necessary.

On certain vehicles equipped with the "Active Lane Keeping Assistant" option, sensors in the steering wheel may not adequately detect if a driver has their hands off the wheel. As a result, the vehicle may not provide proper warnings to the driver. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the steering wheel, and replace as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the rear spoiler may not have been properly attached during assembly. This could allow the rear spoiler to detach from the vehicle while moving and become a hazard for other road users, which could increase the risk of injury and/or damage property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the rear spoiler for any missing fasteners and install new ones as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the backrest adjustment mechanism (recliner) of the front seats may not have been welded correctly during the manufacturing process. As a result, the welds could crack and lead to a failure of the latch mechanism. This could cause the seats to fold forward or rearward in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupants. Correction: Dealers will replace the backrest frame of the front seats.

Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 101 – Location and Identification of Controls and Displays. Due to a software error, the instrument cluster may not turn on when the vehicle is started. This could disable various control telltales and warning symbols, thereby failing to meet the requirements of the standard. This could also result in the driver not being aware of malfunctions, which could affect vehicle performance and increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the vehicle software.
