Issue: On certain vehicles, the passenger occupant detection system may malfunction. This could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger-front airbag even when a passenger is seated. Note: This problem would cause a yellow airbag warning light to turn on in the instrument panel. Safety Risk: An airbag that is turned off could increase the risk of injury to a passenger in a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger seat occupant detection system control module.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the infotainment main unit in the center console could fail. If this happens, the display screen will not turn on when you start the vehicle and the rearview camera image will not appear when backing up. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the infotainment unit.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the vent pipe inside the fuel tank may be damaged. As a result, gasoline could spill out of the filler neck when you remove the fuel cap. Safety Risk: A fuel spill could create the risk of injury or a fire. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the fuel tank vent pipe. If fuel spills out of the filler neck when the tank is pressurized, the dealer will replace the fuel tank and charcoal canister.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the software update for recall 91CR (Transport Canada Recall 2021-642) may not have been performed correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause a delay before the rearview camera image appears. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display within 2 seconds of shifting the transmission into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera that is slow to turn on could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the vehicle infotainment unit parameters.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the passenger seat belt assemblies may contain defective automatic locking retractors (ALR). As a result, the seat belts may not properly lock to secure a child seat. Safety Risk: A seat belt that is used to secure a child restraint but is not properly locked could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Action: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the mounting bolts for the driver's seat. Issue: On certain vehicles, if the front turn signal light fails, the driver would not be alerted by a fast-flashing turn signal indicator. Canadian regulations require this to happen so a driver knows when a turn signal light is not working. Safety Risk: A loss of turn signal function, without a warning to the driver, could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the body control module software.

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. If the parking brake is used during emergency braking, the brake lights on the vehicle will not activate. Following road users would be unaware of the emergency braking that is taking place, which could increase the risk of a rear-end crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update vehicle software to correct the non-compliance.

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. In a situation where the parking lights are switched on and the vehicle is locked, the side marker lights do not illuminate, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could reduce vehicle visibility, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update vehicle software.

Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 118 - Power-Operated Window, Partition and Roof Panel Systems. If the vehicle were to be turned off while the sunroof is closing, the sunroof may continue to move towards the closed position instead of stopping, which is contrary to the standard. This could result in injury to a vehicle occupant if they were in the way of the sunroof as it was closing. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the vehicle's sunroof software.
