Best Cars of the 2018 New York International Auto Show

Tucked in among the sea of major crossover reveals at this year's New York International Auto Show, there were plenty more treats and hidden gems. Here's a look at some of the highlights:

Genesis Essentia Concept

One of the few true "wow" moments at this year's show was the unveiling of the Genesis Essentia concept, which illustrates the company's vision for an electric Gran Turismo. It integrates Athletic Elegance, the name Genesis has given to its newest design language.

2019 Infiniti QX80 Limited

Infiniti introduced the 2019 QX80 Limited in New York, which adds unique styling elements to the brand's top-of-the-line SUV such as dark machine-finished 22-inch wheels, a matte silver open-pore ash wood trim, and satin chrome elements.

2019 Acura RDX A-Spec

This is the Acura RDX A-Spec, a sportier-looking version of the three-row SUV that adds numerous finish updates such as 20-inch Shark Grey alloy wheels, a new front fascia, body-color lower sills, larger-diameter exhaust finishers, sports seats in red or black leather with black Alcantara inserts, and high-contrast stitching.

2019 Mercedes-AMG C 63

The new Mercedes-AMG C 63 made its world debut with a stout set of updates. Although power output remains the same, it now comes with AMG's nine-speed automatic transmission, a standard electronic limited-slip differential, and cosmetic spruce-ups.

2018 Volvo V90

Here for its North American debut is a car we just can't get enough of, the Volvo V60. Since we already know that far too many people will ignore it, do a good deed and behold it now in all its wagon-y glory.

Mazda Kai Concept

Believe it or not, photos don't do the Mazda Kai concept justice. It's a stunner. If the production Mazda3 this is expected to predict looks half this good, we'll all still be better off for its existence.

2019 Kia Sedona

Kia quietly applied a refresh to the Sedona minivan and showed it here in New York. On top of updated looks and the addition of an eight-speed automatic, a new rear-seat infotainment system will launch with the 2019 model with smartphone-mirroring capability.

2019 Kia K900

And then there's the shouted-from-the-rooftops version, the all-new Kia K900 flagship sedan. Kia says the K900 has been "reimagined in every way" and will be the company's most technologically advanced vehicle ever.
